I have seen this type of thread at other sites and it can be very useful. I am not new here but i am new to posting here and i feel like a stranger on the forums so i created this thread so that i can introduce myself and then any other new people can as well.

Well I'm alton_ and i live in Cheshire, England near to Alton Towers which is my home park.
The main parks i have visited are:

- Alton Towers
- Blackpool Pleasure Beach
- SFMM
- SFGadv
- Thorpe Park
- Disneyland (cali)
- USH

The simulators i own are No Limits and RCT2. But i only really design in No Limits now as i find its much more realistic. At the moment i am doing a project with Jakizle called Naive which can be found here:
http://www.coastercrazy.com/forum/topic.a ... C_ID=12934

I hope to post some of my work soon as well.

-Favourite Steel Coaster
Out of everything i have ridden at those parks my favourite steel coaster is Nemesis closely followed by Kingda Ka.
I like Nemesis for its vallies and the rides sheer intensity and clever compact design and its great wherever you ride it. If you ride it at the front you get an awesome view whereas at the back extreme vertical Gs.

-Favourite Woodie
This would have to be El Toro. I think this is an addition this year that has been underrated by many and it has been somewhat flattened down by the arrival of the Voyage. I haven't ridden the Voyage and yes it may be better but for me it has to be El Toro. The anticipation at the top of the lift is incredible and the extreme ejector air is terrific and the twister section is great fun.

-Favourite No Limits Design
Aiolos by Dcs221 is my favourite No Limits coaster because i love B&M Inverts and this is one of the best designs I have seen and i can understand why it did so well in Round 3.

Well thats just about it from me. I hope other new people can use this thread to introduce themselves too.

I'm E-man.

I like roller coasters, but I'd rather be playing poker or whiffs or going to a Dodgers game with friends than go to an amusement park. [:P] Other things I like/do are soccer, basketball, used to play baseball and might again in the future, and video games are always fun. (Long live Super Smash Bros. and the N64)

I live in Socal, which means the climate is as good as it gets. [:)] My home park is SFMM and KBF, but I get free season passes to SFMM so I go there more than KBF.

I've been to too many parks to list, mainly because last Summer I took a month long trip to 10 SF parks and CP. On top of that, I've been to some other SF parks and Universal/IoA, as well as a few others.

Top 3 Steel:
1. X
2. Dueling Dragons
3. Hulk
There are a lot of others too.

Top 3 woodies:

Games owned-

RCT

Fave NL-
Anything by Real, Phyter, Cactus, or Buster.

I live and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've been a professional programmer for 16 years now, and I've been married for 17 years. I suppose my home park is SFMW but I've gone to Disneyland more often and I know it like the back of my hand (a side effect of having both grandparents within an hour of the park for most of my life). I currently work at a web start-up called GoFish. I'm a big gamer, but my main computer fried it's video card over 6 months ago and I haven't been able to replace it (it's a laptop, so I need to get a new one).

Parks I've been too:
Disneyland
Knott's Berry Farm
Paramount's Great America
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (Giant Dipper!)
Six Flags Marin World
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Universal Studios LA
Bonfante Gardens (Hey, it's got a Morgan Mine Train that's actually not bad...)
MGM Grand Adventures (worst ... park ... ever)
New York, New York Hotel & Casino (just how they manage to make a big coaster wrapped around a Casino both boring and painful is an amazing feat of engineering)
Adventuredome (A classic Arrow corkscrew)

Simulations I own:
NL
RCT
RCT2

I recently transcended the 3 plane of Varranol and became an Avatar of Goliald which allows me to shoot lightning from my eyes. Very handy for jump-starting cars and killing annoying flies but it turns out not to be that popular a party trick. I probably should have opted for Goliana instead as the ability to 'emit the scent of a thousand flowers' would have been more generally useful, especially on the subway. Besides, now when I sneeze I tend to zap my own sinuses which is eye-watering painful. They never put stuff like that in the brochure.
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.
