Who likes Dive Machines?

I know I do even though they don't include twisty, freaky and extremely high segments of track.

For me the object V drop coaster is just for the scare. I mean really now it just goes to show that people like to be scared for the adrenalin why else would they stand in a queue for 3 hours for a 3 second thrill?

Well, I'll tell you my opinion in April 2007, after I get back from FL.

I liked sheikra it was pretty fun, I liked the feel of hanging there on the lift brake. The suspense was good.

Usually a dive machine coaster has a holding brake or chain. The real fun starts if the chain slowly increases the gradient of the car before it lets go.>>> Like the Shaft of terror in gold reef city.

From what I remember, sometimes it stops fully, and sometimes it keeps moving very slowly. I think it must depend on the weight of the riders or something.

Then to decrease the risk of just going over without breaking at all they should install the weight measuring instrument that elevators use and make sure that the brake can hold the maximum weight of the car. Don't you think?

They probably have something like it?

ANyway Oblivion does do that. If you watch it when its testing with onone on, it is often still moving slightly when its hanging. But with a full train, it looks like it just stops dead, and then drops.

I don't think it matters that much. It goes slowly enough up to the brake that they probably designed it to be fine. The second drop seemed to be sharper and it works fine...

I like Sheikra, and I love the way you float over the drops and the immelman, but it's just way too short, and it could use some more elements. The water splash doesn't do anything for the riders, and is only fun to people watching the ride.

I have ridden Oblivion well over 30 times and Wing Over is right, sometimes it doesnt stop, it just slows down a lot and hangs over slowly and sometimes it stops and waits 3 secs then it drops.

they're fun, but they're basically one-hit wonders unless they can make eithere wider track or thinner trains

SheiKra does that sometimes, but other times it doesnt stop fully it just creeps over real slowly... To the op i love dive machines, the suspense they give on the holding brake is amazing just staring at the people underneath you hundred of feet below you.

Considering there are only three of them in the world, all of which are inconvieniently located very far away from my home town, I can't give an opinion. But the one drop deal has never done it for me, so I probably wouldn't love them anyway.

I'll be riding Sheikra this Christmas, so I can't really say anything until then.

Buuuuut. Then there's Griffon. Two inversions(99% sure). 2 Vertical Drops(99% sure). Basically a slightly larger version of Sheikra. Sheikra's second drop is 81* if you didn't know already.

I just happen to know pretty much everything about the new coaster. Seeing that i've known about it since january, which you can read in various posts in other topics, and I live 5 minutes from the park. I'm also a Moderator at http://www.bgescape.com which happens to be the site that found the trademark first, and we have full coverage on the new ride. Thank you very much.

Lol, end, weird bragging thing.

Yess, I can't wait for the official announcement. Anyways. DM's look cool, but G5 and Obliv are like one trick ponies, and Sheikra, a bit longer, but still not as good as it could be, the vertical drop i'm sure makes up for it.

the vertical drop.... coulda been done without all the dramatic effects. case in point, gerstlauer eurofighters.
