Roundabout farmer Huss wants to survive with smaller staff

Of Bremen the enterprise requests opening of an insolvency procedure/an assumption by Krupp steel structure Hanover burst

For the probably largest German manufacturer of roundabouts, of Bremen engine works Huss, introduced the district court a provisional insolvency procedure.

Bremen - nearly everyone saw its products already times, already tried many it out, but hardly someone knows the manufacturing firm: Huss develops and produces since 1969 roundabouts for fairs and entertainment parks in all world - altogether nearly 50 different models, under it classical authors such as Breakdance, Top spin or frisbee.

Since with the Kirmesbesuchern the money does not sit any longer so loosely, the German Schausteller do new, million-expensive roundabouts however for years heavily thereby, to orders.

Of Bremen the company steered approximately, by shifting its assembly gradually in more economical Budapest and in addition more strongly on the building of plants for recreational parks concentrating, particularly in China and the USA.

Huss was created already 1919, but engine works supplied with only to marine equipments at that time. Only 1969 transferred it to roundabouts, to which also a pirate ship swing belonged later. Production is fastidious: no assembly line work, but one-off production on order. Some models are built according to work council only three or four times, the racers such as Breakdance at the most hundredfold. Each new development is tested finally not only by security experts, but also by the flight medical profession - finally nobody is to become ohnm??????chtig during the rapid round and elevator travels.

Huss is guessed/advised with its 280 persons employed into the crisis. According to data of the industrial trade union metal the conversion shrank 2005 in the comparison to the previous year around half. Besides suffer the company under refuse dumps: Because the inclination to buy of the Schausteller decreased/went back, Huss offered the letting in the leasing procedure - and thus some roundabout soon again to take back to have.

When rescuer came the Krupp steel structure Hanover (KSH), belonging to the Certina Holding, into the discussion, which wanted to take over and further reorganize the enterprise. Industrial union metal and work council accepted that the vacation and Christmas benefit were painted and nine of well 40 persons employed in that received of Bremen center the notice - originally should even nearly half will dismiss. Also in the Budapester production ??????drastically??????, means it was reduced at of Bremen the work council.

But the planned assumption burst meanwhile, as KSH managing director said J?????rgen Mitsch of the FR: ??????We would have had to take over so high financial risks, those possibly also KSH substantial in would have pulled.??????

Credit agreements does not extend

At the end Huss saw only the way in the provisional insolvency procedure. In a short press release the company for it called a relevant reason: At the end of of July of run out credit agreements were not continued to extend. Differently expressed: The banks obviously did not want to support the enterprise longer. Thus also their endorsements for pre-payments of clients were void, and so the receipts for new business were missing.

??????Insolvency managers, management and investors hold at present conversations, around the jobs, the products and the mark Huss for the world market to receive??????, continue to communicate the company. The situation concerning orders is ??????meanwhile good??????. And the managing directors created a new company already as a precaution: Huss park Attractions. Whether perhaps also still KSH with enters? Managing director Mitsch wants to exclude ??????not completely??????. Hitting a corner hard stack

I hope Pinfari and all the other Italian Shiz aren't going to invase the themeparks now with their crapmachines. This is really sad news.. How I will miss the innovations done year after year by Huss. Those guys were geniusses IMO. (Except for the topple towers, they aren't fun [:(]

::sigh:: oh dear...well there goes about 5 years of advancements in flat rides down the hole.

Now let me get this straight, because I still dont know much about finances. If a company declares bankrupt, theres no going back and they're pretty much done for?

If Huss can still find an investor who's willing to pay all the debts, and to run the company in the future, Huss still makes a chance. Look what happened to Vekoma. They bankrupted, and someone bought the whole company and payed the debts. I doubt someone is going to do that for Huss, don't ask me why, but I don't have a good feeling about that [:)]

Ride manufactuers should really look into other fields to provide services in besides rides. While I'm sure there will always be a demand for ride attractions, there will eventually come to a point where most theme parks just don't feel the need that they will require a new attraction every couple of years, and so the market will decrease greatly. Some companies Like Giovanali and the one the company that made Spinball Wizard at Alton Towers (can't be arsed to get the correct spelling at the moment) already provide other services and just happen to roller coasters and other amusement attractions as well. I especially think that companies like B&M who can only provide large expensive attractions, should consider this option for when the time comes when the market does innevitebly slow down.
