Under Construction: A novel recreation of what will undoubtedly be one of the best rollercoasters in the world, El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure. This brand new Intamin "Plug-n-Play" wooden coaster, testing now, features numerous points of insane sustained airtime, likely easily exceeding -1 g's, two distinct sections of track with completely different styles, one being out and back, and the other twisting along the ground with amazing force and speed, and a 176', 76* drop off of the 181 foot lift hill!

In doing this recreation, like my others, I am striving to create the most accurate experience possible by paying strict attention to even the most minute details. So far all trackwork has been done using elementary, purgatorium, and the AHG, and I intend to continue using this technique to ensure accurate and technically sound trackwork.

Looks awesome and accurate so far. Hopefully you'll get a few rides on it yourself to get as accurate as possible. But the turn at the top of the lift looks a little large but its probably right. And I got 2 questions. How much airtime do you get on that drop and how did you make those airtime hills with elementry? I've been trying but cant get the right shape I get close but not close enough.

I'm guessing red's bowfu parhat formula? That's how I'd make it, but dcs might of done something different.

The coaster looks great so far and I have nothing to complain about. Hopefully this is one that can totally and completely get finished for release. Don't let this one die DCs.

Looks like they're either Cornu_Quintx rotated in purg or Para Hat.

^but you told me when you used para hat for your round one it barley gave any airtime and El Toro has loads of airtime.

Coastercrazy, it all depends on the values that you put into the formulas.

Knowing your skills, this should be a great recreation. With it being a rather simple layout, hopefully this one will actually get finished sometime soon... [:P]

Red's parhat formula gives the airtime you specify, assuming you use the correct speed values.

The heartliner tends to screw up those airtime values a little because of the lessening of the radius of the hat by the amount specified through the heartliner.

Barely any airtime, yeah right. Nice fairly well sustained air on all those hills.

I used cornu_quintx for the first hill pullover, then HSAK for the second, because I had to modify the shape for the second some, and cornu_quintx didn't allow me to do that.

Both hills give around -1.3 g's, and I had to fight for those values lol. Trust me when I say those 2 hills will be absolutely insane, easily among the best hills of any roller coaster in the world, if not the best hills, possibly eclipsing the 3rd camelback on SROS SFNE. With their pacing, steepness, height (and height relative to the first drop), and intense sustained airtime, they won't disappoint.

-.1 for maybe a second on the first drop front row, which is awesome, and a gradual buildup to -.9 in the back.

Do you think they'll be stronger than the first two hills of colossos at heidepark? Gotta love Colossos' air, easily better than EGF, and in a way, more sustained than tonnerre de zeus'. But what's the best about colossos is the first drop, I think its airtime was even stronger than on the following hills... I've read somewhere that it pulls -1.5 g's (coastersandmore.de). Don't know bout el toro though, but I'm looking forward to a near perfect recreation![peakhill]

Yeah especially after riding, I'd have to say El Toro's first 2 hills are better than Colossos'...they're steeper, and look to have even faster pacing over the top. I can't be sure of that though since I haven't ridden Colossos, only El Toro. El Toro's first drop also doesn't have that flat section that takes away from several Intamin drops including the SROS' and Colossos, plus it's even steeper.

As for updates...

Ole, Ole Ole Ole!

Progress! Nothing really visible or exciting though. I've been improving accuracy on the first half of the ride after getting my rides in Tuesday, and I'm very pleased with how it's looking so far. I also did the station and subsequent turn. I'll be working on the turnaround now, then figuring out how to do that exit and entry into the following drop. Comments or questions are appreciated!

EDIT- Just heard from a little birdie that this recreation will have a hizzot car texture...

Those birdies are flying around all over the place. I heard him too. He's not the nicest birdie, but he'll do. [;)]
