(Better Yet) New iTV!

(You won't find anything on the apple site about this unless you watch the "Special Event" video.)

Apple is going to release a new product in 2007 (Q?, announcement in Q1) that will play/display everything you have in terms of digital media on your tv (mainly for HDTV's? hopefully). It looks pretty interesting. So, basically the Front Row app on its own device which can upscale resolution for your big screen TV.

the thing looks good, but i dont have enough of my life on my computer to want to get one when it comes out or even later

Upscaleing video? Theres only so much you can upscale before the image gets distorted, unless there is a new process to do so other than the current norms.

ITV is a rather different thing here. It's a less than pathetic broadcaster!

In regards to the upscaling, they use h.264, which can do a pretty good job when upscaled, and since it uses h.264, it doesn't have to upsacle that much
