^virtual rides was a program like NLFG, but it turns out Maddata took it over and perhaps will be merging it with NLFG

Translation of recent chatnight about NLVR:

- You won't be able to decide if you want to have the operator house of
the Break Dance No.1 and 2 on the left or right side.

- You won't be able to take some parts off of the rides.

- It is planned to let every single light bulb glow.

- The control panels of the rides will exactly be the same like the original
ones.

- We will get some screenshots of the control panels, but first we have to
wait.

- The game will be a simulation, this means it won't include any game
modes.

- It is not certain if the game will include peeps.

- The game will include trucks and trailers which belong to the rides.
These trucks and trailers will be placed automatically with the rides and
can not be placed by the player. The trucks and trailers won't be original
ones, because it takes too much time to model the original trucks and a
trailers for each ride.

- It is not certain if the game will include the ?????????ride/skin editor?????????, where you
can change some parts of the rides (like the colours of the gondolas or
the textures of the rides or the lights etc...)

- The game will probably include some voices of German
?????????recommandeurs?????????. (I hope you know what I mean. A recommandeur of
a ride is the guy who entertains (talks with) the peeps.)

- NLVR will be available in stores and as a download (but you have to pay
for the download).

- The game will include a ?????????media-player????????? which allows you to play (and
listen to) your own music in the game while operating the rides.

- The game will also contain a ?????????sound-player????????? which allows you to play
your own sounds (a horn for example).

- The weather will change while playing the game and it will look much
better and realistic than before.

- The game will probably cost between 25????????? and 35?????????.

- If the game won't include a ride editor, you won't be able to edit any
part of the rides (like the colours of the gondolas for example).

- Break Dancer No. 1 & 2 won't have LED rear lamps.

- There won't appear any dysfunctions etc. while playing. The
manufacturers and the owner of the real rides do not want it.

- You won't be able to control the following rides:
- Ferris Wheel
- Bumper Cars
- Ghost Train
- Chairoplane
- Rides for little children
- Sling-Shot

- The Insider will have correct gondola numbers in the final game ( in the
?????????Insider????????? demo, there's a ?????????1????????? on every gondola )

- The game won't probably contain any rollercoasters, because it is too
hard to realize it at this time. Maybe an Add-On will include some
rollercoasters.

- The game will contain a dynamic sound engine (probably not ?????????Dolby
Surround Sound?????????, but a similar dynamic sound engine).

- There will be 5 to 7 different types of little stores (like candy shops etc..)
you can place on your fairground (sorry, I don't know how to translate
the German word ?????????Reihengesch?????????ft" correctly to English).

- These little stores won't be original ones.

- Each of the 5 ????????? 7 different types will have lots of different skins, so you
can place enough little stores on your fairground without having 5 or 6
times the same store.

- You won't be able to ride and control the Ghost Train, you can only
watch it from outside.

- There will be 3 or 4 or maybe 5 different types of Ghost Trains, each
with another skin and look made by the developers.

- The game will contain Ghost Trains, an Adventure Train and a Labyrinth.
You can only watch them from outside and you won't be able to control
them. These attractions have no real paragons, so the developers will
make default skins and designs for them.

- It is planned to release some or an Add-On(s) for NLVR (after the
release of NLVR).

- If the game includes peeps?????????
- ?????????they will leave the fairground if it rains.
- ?????????they won't puke.
- ?????????there will be some guys on the rides which will collect the chips for
you from the peeps.
- ?????????there will be cashiers.
- ?????????they will scream when they are riding the attractions.
- ?????????they will take a seat to watch the rides.
- ?????????the fairground location will be a little bit emptier in the afternoon
and fuller in the evening.

- The rides are much more detailed than in Virtual Rides, due to the new
graphics engine.

- The developers are trying to include the typical Break Dance Sound. This
means the moments where you almost can't hear the engine for 1 or 2
seconds (when the plate of the Break Dance is moving with full speed)
will be included.

- The planned fairground editor, where you can build your own fairground
location, won't be included anymore. But there will be many high
detailed prefabricated fairground locations instead, where you can place
the rides of your choice wherever you want.

- The ride list can still change!

- The game will include a ?????????talkover????????? function and an ?????????echo????????? function, if the
developers are able to realize it.

- You will probably be able to create a music playlist for each ride.

- Some facts about the new graphics engine:
- The lighting will be much more realistic than in Virtual Rides
- The textures will look much better
- The trees will look much better
- You will see light beams shining through the fog
- The game will contain flare effects, volumetric lights, lustre effects and
realistic shadows.

- Bernd did not know if the game supports Microsoft?????????s new DirectX 10.

- It is planned to let the all the lights of the rides throw real light on
everything, but it is not sure at this time, because it probably needs a lot
of performance, so the developers have to test if it works fine with the
game first.

- We will get more screenshots soon

- 12 developers are working on NLVR

- The developers are trying to include a support for gamepads and
joysticks.

- The developers are trying their best to release NLVR this year. If they
can't release it this year, they will release it next year.

- You will probably have many options to influence the (day) time.

- After release, you can probably download some sounds for the rides
(horns, voices etc.) from the NLVR homepage.

- The graphics engine is similar to NLFG.

- The game will include the following kinds of weather:
- Sun
- Rain
- Clouded
- Thunderstorm
- Snow

- Almost all 3D models of the rides are done, but they still have to
program them.

- It is planned to include the 4 seasons.

- The game will probably include a screenshot and a video function if the
developers are able to realize it.

- Like in NLFG, you will probably be able to save your ?????????driving programs?????????.

- If the game will include peeps, you can hear them walking on the metal
plates of the rides.

- The Add-On will probably include a Musik Express.

- You will be able to walk as a peep over the fairground location in first
person mode to look at the rides etc.

- The developers from Deadly Electronics are modelling the rides, the
developers from VIS are programming the rides.

- This week, the NLVR website will go online, but it won't contain much
more information than we know right now.

- You will be able to change the ?????????running lights????????? of the rides (I don't know
how to translate the German word ?????????Lauflicht????????? correctly).

- You won't be able to change the colours of the floodlights.

- You are able to turn off the integrated day/night cycle, so you can play
at night or during the day.

- You will be able to change the seat if you choose the onride camera.

- There will probably be something you have to earn/to win.

- You can change the given keyboard controls and you will be able to
control everything with the mouse (like in NLFG)

- There won't be an online mode.

- It is not sure if the X-Force will be included in the game. Maybe it will be
included in an Add-On for NLVR.

- The game will contain a jingle (sound) browser.

-The game won't include a Break Dance 3, but maybe it will be included in an Add-On.

- A demo will be released shortly before NLVR will be released.

- Maybe there will be 2 different kinds of control panels:
1. The original control panel of the ride.
2. An ?????????easier????????? version of the control panel.

- Maybe a Monster 3 will be included in NLVR, or maybe it will be included in the Add-On.

- The game will maybe include fireworks.

- The gondola brakes of the Insider will be more realistic than in the Insider Demo.

- The Power Tower 2 (Schneider) will perhaps be included in the Add-On.

- If you play a jingle or a sound the music becomes quieter.

To be honest, Virtual Rides simply had to utilise the new engine - to get the desired quality of result.

Of course this has meant a significant delay in the release of the sim, which I'm sure has not been great for morale.

Perhaps now is a good time for an apology over keeping everyone waiting - you will be v.happy with the results though [approve]
