Something new from Microcrap Wintendo ...
------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft will release the final version of Internet Explorer 7 (English) in October 2006. Internet Explorer 7 (IE7 ) provides significant enhancements in security, platform management, and usability. Microsoft recommends that all genuine Windows customers install this upgrade.

Shortly after it is released, Microsoft will distribute IE7 as a high-priority update through Automatic Updates to help consumers become more secure and up-to-date. However, to ensure that customers are prepared to upgrade, IE7 will not install without user consent. Microsoft recognizes that, as part of a managed deployment plan, some organizations may wish to block users from receiving IE7 through Automatic Updates and is providing an IE7 Blocker Toolkit.

IE7 runs on Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Microsoft Windows Server 2003. This announcement provides an overview of Microsoft resources and recommended actions that IT administrators should take to ensure their company's Web sites are ready for IE7 and that their browser-based applications will continue to work seamlessly with IE7.

This announcement updates previous information about Automatic Updates delivery released on July 26, 2006. For more information about IE7, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/technet/update ... ement.mspx or contact your Microsoft sales or support account representative.

^same, the only thing I'll use IE for anymore is maybe a site that requires it once in a while. I don't like IE 7 either, I mean, really the only thing they're doing with it is movin stuff around and adding tabs/RSS. I'm not sure as to the security aspect, but I'm doin just with with FF anyway.

I have IE 7 and its a whole lot better then 6 and I personally like it over FireFox, but mine is beta, and when I try to get onto my ftp i have to go through two steps instead of just typing in the address. its weird, but i like it a lot.

I dunno they even changed the placement of the back/forward/stop buttons, so that made me dislike it even more

What I am seeing is that someone swiped the programming technology of Mozilla and slapped the Wintendo label on it. Not like that has ever happened before (isn't that right, Steve jobs??) ... but the tabbed browsing, RSS feeds, general look and feel ... yeah, it really seems to handle like Mozilla.

Seems pretty cool, writing this message from it. Only thing it's missing is the little X in the top right corner that closes the tab you're on. It's like that in Firefox and it's a tad more ergonomic.

Firefox does have a few issues here and there but overall it's much better than IE. Most of the critics of FF haven't even really tried using it.

Firefox as a whole is better and more stable, the plug-ins are hella cool. The only reason I would ever use IE over firefox is if I want to print something out... for whaterver reasons I can't print pages in firefox.
