I hope they can start doing test runs while theming is under construction. I want to see them soon!

I almost think it would make sense to have test runs before theming is well underway just to make sure everything is working as it should, that way they don't get all the theming done and then something is screwed up.

Well, they still haven't installed the motors to run the thing... I'm guessing it will be a couple months at least before testing.

BTW, I got to see it for myself this past weekend. I've got some random pics and personal impressions that I'll post up soon. Plus, I'll report on some random comments/criticisms that I heard floating around about the coaster from park guests.

I must say that those 2 corkscrews are very ugly and probably something they could have done without. But I guess w/e feels good...

kumba's [:)]

But really that whoe turn around the lake doesn't really do it for me, visually. And I like having rides that are both physically and visibly fun.[:)]

Its like 30% completed...

Kumba's are no different than any other B&M except its got trees around it. Once all the themeing is in (much like every other themed ride - looks wonky till its done) I think alot of people will change their mind.

^^ Yes, but Kumba was the first one of that type.

^I'm sure he would prefer to have it in a church.

Ride looks swell.!

No church. Outside floral gardens. I dont like really formal settings...too traditional.

Kumba was the first of what type? Doesnt matter, first or not. I dont think that because Raptor had the first cobra roll it makes it any prettier than say, Katuns or Alpies which I find better looking than Raptors.

I just think its foolish at this point, as with any themed ride, to be making statements about areas that will look drastically different.

This is what I've been hoping that Cedar Point would build for years: a coaster that has both inversions and airtime. Thank you, Mr. Kinzel.

Station is looking lovely, and looks like they've gotten some trains on the track. Anyone know when they'll be running tests/if they have begun testing? I look forward to June 14th, which is the day I aim to be in Cedar Point for this beauty!
