Over the Holidays i flew to Phoenix Az to spend time with family, After a 4 hour flight I was aching to get out of the cattle section the airline put me in and into something fast with a good drop and some good G's. So since phoenix is summer weather all year round I figured why not do a Coaster, Unfortuneately The only Coaster AZ has to offer is Desert Storm @ Castles n Coasters. Well my first weekend in phoenix the Wife and I set out for a Day trip to CnC. We both purchsed all ride passes and embarked on the path to least resistance or (desert Storm as it is called.) We boarded a Very roomy train (something unusual in Rollercoasters, Unless it's a morgan hyper) anyway we got in and started our ascent 90ft up. Well I blinked and the next thing I knew the ride was over so We tried it again. I will say this there is some nice G's coming out of the loops on that ride and it's not too bad, but next time I am on the western coast I am going to Magic Mountain, which i wanted to do anyway but no one wanted to drive 7 hours to LA. Anyway if your in Phoenix visiting and need a coaster fix, Desert Storm will do.
Some good news I was talking to the Management of CnC and they are building another CnC in Scottsdale, I think, don't quote the town but I am pretty sure thats what he said. Anyway they are looking to make it 4 times bigger than Phoenix CnC and putting in a Wooden coaster. So maybe my next trip will sport some wood, who knows.
I Now reside in Baltimore, MD it's a far cry from Allentown, Pa where i Could look out my Living Room Window and See Talon or Steel Force, But I hear SF america has some pretty cool coasters, So look for a report on my first Visit to SFA very soon.
If you Are ever in PA ya have to make sure you Visit these Parks.
