Avian Assault Has Been Released!

More Twisted Than The Ones Daring Enough To Ride It

As we speak, a completely insane creature is slowly being constructed into an overshadowing tower above us. Well, it's not that big a deal, but I'd say that last sentence could make anybody scared. [lol]

It's a B&M 4-Seated Hyper Coaster, and I've just begun planning it today. It will be roughly 128 feet above the ground, and will feature an insane first drop. I'll be updating you all as I advance in trackwork. I wouldn't expect Avian Assault to be released before January 5th

Update- http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p3003 Also, I know the first drop doesn't look as intense as you may have expected, but the angle is more breath-taking than you can see! And the color scheme is not final and will not be blue. The colors chosen are so that the track can be clearly seen as opposed to the affect white track has on the eyes.

In this picture it appears that the banking switches from right to left way too soon. Try working with that to remove as many lateral forces as possible. Your wooden coaster was pretty smooth though, so I look forward to seeing the result.

I am tweaking out the hill a little bit, but like I said above, it's hard to see what angle the hill actually takes just by viewing the picture. The forces thrown at you at the bottom are completely realistic and kind of intense! I'm trying to prove myself wrong againts the theory that B&M Hypers should be big. Avian is going to be relatively small and not too long in length. Still, I hope you guys will like it.[:)]

Update- http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p3003
I have completed tweaking the drop, and I finished the upwards slant after it. Also, I'm starting a series of hills that will be going nearly parrallel but opposite to the chainlift direction.

I'm Sorry To Announce...

I am having alot of trouble with my computer right now. My dad says we have been infected with a severe virus (Damn nerds and their inability to get girlfriends). The virus and spyware seem to be giving us massive problems disregardless of our Firewall and Virus Block Protection. If we ever experience a crash, than I may lose the track file, so I'm moving the project to another computer to avoid risk...A much slower computer. This could mean that progress won't advance very fast, but I still may get the track done before the end of January if circumstances stay for the better and we get rid of the problem.

Sorry about the setback, but Avian Assault will be severely delayed.

Just to insure that the file doesn't get lost, just upload it to a site such as rapidshare or zshare, or even email it to yourself. Good luck with your comps issues though, hope you can work it out.

Thanks for the encouragement, Jake [:)]. My dad will stay up tonight trying to pull through it, but I doubt he'll have any luck. I know you've all probably had viruses, but not like this you haven't. I wouldn't be surprised if this thing ended in a huge (literal) explosion of our system. The screen is glitching as I type, and unfortunately, my dad is taking us offline for a while (a day at most, just to refresh the system). I won't be able to get back on the site until later Wednesday Night.

Meanwhile, I have finished working with two airtime abundant hills on Avian. Update-http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p3003

Update- I have good news, the virus is backing away. We're still having connection problems, but my dad didn't have to take us off line apparently. I'm going to keep Avian on this computer becuase the risk of meltdown has been eliminated!

Update- The progress of Avian is coming along impressively fast now that I get to use a high-speed system. http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p3003

I have added a creative little turnaround that will take it back to the station...I told you it wouldn't be all too big.

It is looking good! I like the turnaround after the two airtime hills!

Keep up the good work!

The configuration fo the turnaround is quite unique, yes, but it is giving me a hell of a job tweaking. I think the momentary switch in banking may very well be the source of issue...let's see of I can make it work within these next couple of days. If not, I may just have to go with a traditional Hyper 4-Seat turnaround like what you see twice on Raging Bull (First element after the drop, and another before the MCBR)

I'd really hate to go with that type of TA becuase I'm trying to make Avian as unseen and undiscovered as possible...I'll keep you all updated with the turnaround issue.

Update- Everything worked out with turnaround, and I finished the trackwork...now onto supports [:(]. Starting some custom towers...http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p3003

Again, no colors are official yet (track, trains, supports)

Just helping you out with some realistic pointers here:

-Those colors are just way too "sharp" on the eye, try reducing the saturation, etc.
-No BnM's use the type of supports you are going after. They use very large tubes that are spaced pretty far apart, resulting in a cleaner look and they are more cost-efficient. Just look on rcdb for photos of BnM supporting style.

Here's a pretty good example: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3290.htm?picture=32

I used this one...http://www.rcdb.com/ig531.htm?picture=7

Thanks Jake, but if you did read the extremely bold faced print one post above, *ahem*, made so everybody saw it, you'd see no colors are official yet.

And yes, I will go for a more melancholy color scheme. I will change the lift support structure. Thank you Jake.

Update- I changed those supports to the style Jake suggested, and I finished the rest! http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p3003

Again, no colors are official yet, they are bright so they can be clearly seen!!!

Hey. The supports are looking good. The design is different also.

(Check your PM's. You'll find something there!)

Why the waste of space after the MCB? You could at least double the length of that track and include a helix and/or an airtime hill or something.

The first half looks pretty good. Then, you hit the MCB and you zig zag then done.

Well, Real, after you ride it you'll see that the track doesn't pack too much of a punch (speed, I mean). I was trying to prove my own theory wrong (a little unusual, I know) that B&M Hypers can only be exciting if they are big!

Avian is surprisingly thrilling for a small coaster. After the MCBR, you really don't have any speed left. I tried four different endings, and they all wound up not having enough speed to make it back, so in the end, the zig-zag worked best...

I think you'll be surprised at the outcome. It is now available.red]

^Then you shouldnt have used an MCB and went with constant hills the entire way in combined with some turns and a helix.

One thing is with that small of a ride, using 9 cars per train is a waste. 8 or 7 would be better and by using 8, when it hits the mcb its going around 5-6 mph faster.

Overall you wasted alot of speed. Those trains can take some pretty serious bending and twisting and this thing is very, very drawn out. Everything needs to be about 25-30% smaller.

If you still wanted to try this out, go with 7 or 8 cars per train and make all your elements alot smaller and a bit more intense.

Avian Assault...want more?

Avian Assault, like some of you rated, was not as exciting as I could've made it. I completely agree, and that's why I'm taking it back to the drawing board. It will be completely new after the second hill. It will be faster. It will be more intense.

Keep that turn around thingy in there tho even if you have to lift it out as an element - that might benefit from going a lot faster through there...

lol, he basically just took the same layout and made it perfect tech everywhere.
