All news agencies have reported that Saddam has been executed for crimes against humanity. Reports state that video has been taken, but no word on whether or not it is available anywhere. MSNBC and CNN have both stated that they will not show the execution footage - but I am sure it will be available somewhere, soon.

yeah, saddam will be all over youtube within a week or so, i'm glad they hung the bastard, over the whole i'm against the death sentence, but there are exceptions
I can see pictures coming of his body (just as they did for his brothers), but I am certain that major networks will not be hosting the video of his death. Come to think of it, I wonder if it was a short drop or a long drop? As some may know, a long drop snaps the neck and causes almost instant death -- the short drop causes severe strangulation and is well, extremely painful.

Finally...I have been waiting for this for quite some time now...I am also, naturally with strong religion, freedom for life, second chances, and mercy, completely against the death penalty...but Hussein has done enough to this world and, like hyyyper, I believe in some exceptions (Hussein being one of them)
Yeah, for a few ways im against capital punishment, for reasons such as innocence may occur upon the convicted. But Saddam, was far from an innocent man, he deserved every little smidjon of what he got. Im no expert on hanging, but that looks a strong noose, so a long drop maybe. Who gives one, hes now sleeping with the fishes. Long live the Queen [:)].
It's a shame they hung Saddam up, you won't stop violence with executing people. This is just another proof of the retarded policy in Iraq. There are other ways to punish these criminals, Saddam didn't even have heartfelt contrition about what he did, so punish him on such a way so he UNDERSTANDS what he did wrong.
Just my 2 cents.. I'm afraid i can't explain my opinion very well in English, but I hope you get what I mean[:)].
Good point hyyyper -- but Saddam never said he was the Savior of the world who had been prophesied accurately about for thousands of years; he merely appointed himself as supreme ruler over a nation for a quarter of a decade -- and because of his actions, convinced that nation that he was.

Don't most of these religions feel that by dying in the name of God they are being rewarded? I don't think we did the world or anyone suffering under his actions any justice. It's hard for me because I don't believe in an afterlife but, I would like to see them pay before death. Let him become a medical experiment. Let people who act this way serve a purpose. Let them lead to cures for cancer, AIDS, diabetes, etc. After they're gone there is no proof they are being punished for the way they acted. I have no problem putting them through the same cruel and unusual punishment they put others through.
