What kind of cars do you all have? I've been looking into them and started to save money for one. I'm thinking of a Civic because they are great long last cars, and of course i'm gonna be getting very used one due to my minimum wage job. lol.

This is one i've got my eye on- 1998, 87,000 miles, $3500

something, perhaps the decals, or the black hood, or the rims, or the spoiler screams "DO NOT BUY THIS CAR YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT ITS BEEN THROUGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the stuff done to the engine might be as cheesy as the outside .... clear tailights and fancy rims do not make a car nicer, often they cover up what's wrong with it. you never know, but i'd be willing to bet you'll only get half of this car's story and the other half will be mostly b.s... i'd say get a honda, but one that hasn't been "customized" like this one...

My brothers girlfriend has a honda civic, but it's a new, and I can say civics are very nice cars and very gas efficient! Also, this doesn't connect because her car is an '06.

Very very true man, Thanks for watching out for me. I know all the things we need to check for, we're also taking it to our honda-man Mike to do a full inspection before making a move on any car.

i'd bet your mechanic finds stress in the frame from someone pretending it was a racecar..if not thats a great deal....

i drive a brand new ford fusion zetec climate 1.4 duratec. loverly car but i previousl had a ford escort which is still on my drive with a for sale sign in it. if you can pay the import taxes you can have it for $1500[:D]

If you have a tiny penis...feel free to buy a car with big rims and and a spoiler on it. Why is it that all boy racer cars really suck and have tiny engine sizes, yet they have spoilers on the car and generaly just make the car look shiz. I really hate the boy racer look. Some cars look nice done up properly, but these people that buy Renault 5's or Citroen Saxo really must be idiots. If you are going to buy a Honda Civic, buy a nighthawk type R and do nothing to it. It looks amazing as it is, without a crappy spoiler on it.

Anyway, I have a 2 litre Peugeot 307 XSI sport model, which isn't bad for a first car (only 32,000 miles on the clock too)

Sfmm homie.
You certainly cant go wrong with a Honda, the manufacturing is superb. Its reliable and it will probly not need servicing.
The Civic your looking into also has quite a nice kit on it. Looks bad ass. You'de fit in great in England.
Edge's motor is way sorfistocated. And it shifts, like shiz. But it would cost you.

The one thing I dislike about the Honda Civic is the gear stick placement. I hate they way it comes out of the dashboard, same with the Renault Megane. I would have been more tempted by a Honda Civic than the Peugeot 307 if it wasn't for the gear stick. Plus I believe the 307 is the next size catergory up from a civic

a civic is in the small car catagory where the 307 is in the family, and yes i agree with you edge that the gear stick in the dash is a bad piece of design for such a small car. true there are places for it like in the fiat ugly lets put the lights in a crap position under the wind screen and 3 seats in the front, i carnt remember the shorter name but thats the real one[:D].

lets have the full name of that 307 aswell please edge, its got some numbers after that im shure

mine is the ford fusion climate 1.4 duratec zetec 114 line model[^]

[lol] Mine is just a Peugeot 307 XSI. I also got a petrol engine, so none of that 'HDI' crap on the end either

SFMM homie -- I would not go for that rice rocket (like everyone else is warning you) and look around for better deals on newer cars that have not been messed with, because, after all, the first 3,500 you drop on it could get you the car, but you might have a bigger maintanence up keep (even though it is a Honda) due to its age and what was done to it, which could make the actual ownership cost go up, and since its old and changed, your insurance sure could cost a lot more than it would with another used car, untouched.

Just saying this because my friend got the same civic type for 2500 and had to pay 200 more on his insurance for it, and it ended up needing a transmission replacement whicc cost him a pretty penny.
