I was a huge poker player last year, sitting at the .25/.50 or .50/1.00 NL Hold'em tables on PokerStars almost every night, but recently money has gotten tight and I have always had consistency problems, so I'm on a temporary hiatus from it. I also used to play live, in the local $50 weekly tournaments.

I usually win big, with a profit rate of about $30 per hour when I'm focusing on the games, but I have a real problem with patience. I get sick of the grind very easily, and then go on random aggression sprees where I commonly toss almost $200 away in a very short time. So, yeah. I'm a huge fan, and love playing, but I'm off it for now at least.

Omaha Hi/Low requires the most skill too though. I play poker a lot, online and with friends and all. Usually Hold'em, but sometimes Omaha too. I also play a little stud every once in a while, though Im not the biggest fan of stud.

i think omaha hi / low is a freaking stupid game. you need either crap, or at least a full house to win and the remaining 4 people split the pot anyway, thus making very little money. stud is the easiest because you can see 3 out of 7 of the players cards. however, it seems that stud players are required to be miserable pricks so i hate the game also. holdem is fun, requires a good amount of skill, and is fun to play and easey to learn.

Stud requires a lot of luck. It also leaves less to reads and betting patterns, meaning generally it has the least disparity between good and bad players. For that reason I dont play it too much. Hi/Lo, on the other hand, requires tons of skill. You need a much greater understanding of odds and hand strength than in any other poker game, and betting plays a much greater role than luck. (Assuming you're fortunate enough to play NL rather than the far too common Omaha Hi/Lo PL/FL) Omaha also has much greater disparity between good and bad players. It is quite easy to land in the money on a consistent basis in NL Omaha Hi/Lo tourneys if you know hwat you're doing. The same can't be said for any other poker game, at least not as much so.

thats true, but i still think its a stupid game [:)] a lot of the players look and act like they've forgotten the poker room has a door. their entire life is poker. yes it's the most difficult game, but i think it's one of the least fun and the least profitable because you will almost always split a pot. and pot odds are rediculous because you're betting a large portion of your stack in order to win mabey a quarter of the final pot, which ends up only being mabey 10% more than what you put into it. stud players swear by the game, but i think they just dont realize how the game is easey and really doesnt allow room for much skill. also, in stud, unless you have at least 3 of a kind on 3rd street, you're chasing for cards and that's never a good idea in poker, but the game thrives on it.
