Well, I was going to just do a simple one-lift coaster with multiple drops, but the coaster petered out too fast because of the height restriction, so I decided to add a mid-course launch with a huge hypercoaster finale.

And, in a severe twist of personality, I am actually using Elementary on a couple of parts. The FVD has finally convinced me to try it. I still haven't figured out how to make the original inversions correctly, though, and it has proved very impractical in the lower-speed sections, so the coaster will still be about 85% hand-built.

COASTER SUMMARY:
The first half will be the looping section, containing many unique modified inversions along with some random bursts of air and two wicked drops. Then right as the coaster peters out and looks like it's over, it launches back to 65 mph and rips through a final series of turns and hills. I'm hoping to get the "wow, that finale was wicked" feeling by the time it hits the brakes.

This is fun! I forgot how enjoyable contests are...

I think alot of you guys are WAY overengineering these. lol. Thats the one bad thing that elementary is doing to people. They just make all coasters exactly the same because they can. It doesent even matter to them what the style is.

Arrows just dont do this-

Hah, nice.
Gaz, I do appologize if I have seem to come off as a flaming asshole. There are circumstances here at home which are being taken upon other people even though I know I shouldn't let that happen. Plus, I am EXTREMELY anal when it comes to making things look nice and finalized. I was looking over the template for a buildoff between Dirk and I for about an hour as he lost his patience. lol I made sure everything was crisp from the wording to the details in the criteria, being sure there are no loop holes or what not.
So anyway, due to the circumstances here at home, I may or may not be able to finish. I will give it an earnest attempt, but I can't promise anything as of now. Sorry guys.
Cheers.

Okey, seriously, I am going to sound like a huge n00b saying thins, but the problem I am having is making a decently paced coaster and having it still be able to get back up to the height the station is at.[V] Anyone else having this problem? Its a lose-lose for me, If I make it not tall, it makes it back but goes yawningly slow, if I make it tall, I need to make the layout long enough to be fun, but the won't makw it back. Im working tirelessly to get the mere layout done.[xx(]

the key "you can use up to two lifts or launches." Just use the second one.

Ya my goal is to avoid that. Nothing is worse than ending a ride going up a lift hill (e.g. Ninja at SFMM).

I doubt I'll have any problems with the terrain. I'll know better when I start.

I have 3 or 4 emergency LIMs around the end of my track because of difficult pacing techniques. Launching it in a slow but surely manner really keeps the speed going [;)]

Only 2 means of propulsion allowed, remember? 3 LIMS would be too much.

Yeah, since I can't really get aa nice drop coaster, and I can only get it going to like 63, Ill try a launcher. Sobek I do not understand your question.

If it doesn't speed up the train, why would you need it? And how do you manage to make a lift that doesn't speed up the train in the first place?
