Ok, gazag, i already asked you some questions over msn but i have one more.

I have 3 tunnel/tunnel collisions.

2 of these are loops and we discussed those, I tested each side of the loop individually and a track/tunnel collision does not take place and therefore you said they were ok.

The last tunnel/tunnel collision is elsewhere during a normal element. The tracks when tested individually are nowhere near colliding with the tunnels.

Whats the deal? Would you let this slide?

all tunnel to tunnel colitions are fine as long tas theres no tunnel to track, car or support colitions

That's good, because I definitely have some of those! Still trying to resolve the e-stop issue here...

Could we make an exception on vertical loops or something reguarding the collisions? LOOK at how close that is! The lateral G restrictions kill half of a decent arrow style ride because you can't make even a nicer version of the corkscrew entrances, you can't ruin the vertical loops too.

Edit: I know it doesn't warrant a DQ according to your rules since they don't mention collisions at all, but could you not take off points for making the vertical loops the right way?

What I meant, with those cars you are not able to put your arms out to the side so basically you should be a bit more tolerant when it comes to things sticking in at the side of tunnels, especially when they are below seatlevel.

Only my thoughts though.

D'oh![:O] I just though of something in my ride.

Image

Since it is behind the track it is totally realistic, is this considered as a tunnel hit or not?

Thanks for the rules that prohibit building in the style of the actual ride.

wait a minute... since when are you declaring tunnel hits "illegal"? That wasn't in the rules.

You're taking points off for building vertical loops in the correct style.

Yeah, there goes 50% of the remaining bit of credibility this contest had. CKmwm is completely correct.

If you pick some random and horrible first round style like the Arrow looper, then you should NOT take off for people actually using that style like it's supposed to be used. That's ridiculous.

Seriously, those pictures were perfect examples. Tunnel tests are not perfect indicators of riders' arm reach. If they were, then don't you think their size would vary drastically between something like a Vekoma Flyer and an Arrow looper? Gazag, you're clearly showing lack of coaster knowledge (and common sense/logic, considering pictures were shown to you) by solely using a tunnel to judge clearances.

If you were scared of having to check clearances for as many coasters as will be uploaded, then you should've picked a different style... that simple.

Oh, and just to let you know, I've personally touched the grass going 75 mph on SROS SFA and kicked a tree limb on both Alpengeist and Talon. Though I haven't before, I know I can easily touch one of the railings to the right of the prelift track on SROS SFA (wouldn't even have to reach). These clearances are sometimes not an exact science, to an extent and within reason ofcourse.

Why is it that you break your own rules by letting more people in the contest, yet don't consider very valid requests/questions like CKmwm's even though what they said is correct? Does that make sense to you? Doesn't to me.

This is why I asked to be considered as a Judge's consultant. Wasn't a statement to make myself seem better than others as 2 people have suggested, it was to help prevent nonsense like this.

hang on tunnel hits arnet agaist the rules. just rails and supports within the tunnel but due to all the winging ill let ones around the loops ONLY pass

Thanks for considering our thoughts. The point is more about being able to have beams next to the track, behind an invisible clearance boundary that's perpendicular and adjacent to the track rails, but closer than most other styles. If Arrow can have two tracks very close on loops, then why not in other segments of track? I assume some close lateral clearances have been done on real Arrow rides outside of their loops.

Just a suggestion, things shouldn't be done due to a lot of "winging;" they should be done after considering the solutions to an issue (yes, even those presented by others) instead of simply saying "I'm right and I'm doing this because I can."

I did say that, and I wasn't trying to say I was in now. I was just sticking up for those who are in the contest. Just because I'm not in it doesn't mean I'm not interested in what goes on, as you've seen I'm sure.

Haven't been on MSN in a looong while but I'll try to see if it lets me log on, and I'll add you sometime soon. Dinner now so ttyl.

Press F1, or maybe adjust screen size/resolution in options.

your going to have to adjust your screen reseloution.

i cannot let you sed it to me to be checked for 2 reasons

1. the rules say once youve submited a track its your final submition
2. its not fair to others

sorry but sounds like you just need to adjust your screen resoloutuin either on the properties of your comp or in the options menu of the nolimits sim

I touched those railings on SROS...they shocked me [:(]

In other news, I'm considering starting over from scratch...now that we can build Arrow style [^]
