So I got an aquarium in January and things have been srunning smoothly since. It's got three fish in it, a Calcico fantail (fat orange goldfish with a double butt tail) and a black moor (black fish, big eyes, double butt tailed also), and a pleco (bumbles around cleaning the tank all day for me. The orange one is named Butt Pirate, the black oneis Diglet but it has a certain letter replaced to make it racially insensitive, and the pleco is named after my friend who turned into a cokehead beause he is full of crap and pleco eats crap.

Anyways, I've caught Diglet resting on the bottom of the tank a ton, and it's always in the same place. He is by no means old, and I've seen him do this before as part of normal behavior (usually when he is crapping) but he would do it for much shorter lengths of time. If I tap the tank he responds immediately and swims around fine. He isn't scraping against the gravel, just kind of hanging out not doing anything. Should I be concerned or is he just horny or soemthing? Also I KNOW he doesn't ahve Ich. I don't wanna spend more money on a new fish and have to take the bus to Walmart again.

id like to share (since we're talking of fish) that i built a pond on my balcony for my fish, which are comprised of 2 koi, and 6 various goldfish. All get along very happy.

Image

Its not the finished pond :( i coudn't find anypics, now its just nicer, and wilder cuz its been almost a year.

Anyway, its just a 250L black plastic pond mold, that sits on a structure of wood and brick, with long plant pots behind it for the flowers, and a wooden fence nailed in front of it, surrounded by stones. Its got a pump that feads into the small tilted urn, so we have a mini waterfall XD
Since that pic, we installed another pump, whith a big *ss external filtration system due to alge problems, as u can imagine, it gets quite sunny in greece :P
We're going to build some sort of shelter over it, but since im now living in london... *sigh* nothing gets done without me

Fish have to rest too, it could also be that he is bored, maybe introducing a new tank mate of the same species, or adding more plants and things to play with may get him more active, but most likely he is just resting

Another thought is that you may be leaving the tank light on for too long, not allowing time for rest. I know that a lot of people make the mistake of leaving the light on all the time, which is not a good thing.
