Hello, Popcorn (Matt) here.

Me and friend of mine have been working on a Nolimits Auto-Supporter and I'd like to ask you what you want to see in this program?

Let's get the ball rolling with the first decent auto-supporter

Suggestions are really welcome. [:)]

This should be neat. When do you think that you will release it?

Could steel be pulled off? With wood its supports from every part of the track, but a steel coaster has supports in specific points, and it would take a genius to do the math for that, so is it apply where selected? One per segment or something like that? How are you making it?

Automatic bracing for turns that would require it.

They're doing all this work, and you can't take 2 seconds to read your sentence fragment post for obvious spelling mistakes?

lateral and diagonal bracing on woodies would be nice,

for steelies, automatic collision detection, supports styles (b&m differs from arrow and so on),

One thing I would like to see, is the CCI-style supports with the little pieces of wood sticking out above the whole lateral structure, if you know what I mean. ( http://www.rcdb.com/ig526.htm?picture=5 )
Automatic steel supports aren't that needed for me.. It's one of the fun parts of making a coaster you know.

Edit: + no bug on terraformed terrains, if possible

zan_2003 : The main focus at the time is to create supports for steel non-inverts at the time. It's so we can grasp how to create supports correctly. If we decide it's easy enough will move onto inverted coasters.

Spacing the supports shouldn't be an issue, I'll include that into the list of things to do.

phanoity : I wouldn't like to give a specific date, because we probably wont meet it.

Dirk_Ermen : Wooden supports are out the question for now. We might develop something later on if we have the confidence.

vampire : Macs Suck [:p] J/k Neither of us own a Mac so I doubt it'll ever be coded for a mac.

hyyyper : Collision dection is also on the lists of things to do, thanks for the suggestion.

Mikado : Wooden supports aren't on the list yet because of their shear complexity. We'll take your comment on board for later though. Thanks. [:)]

Thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming.

Yay! Auto supports!! Just want different styles for Intamin, Arrow, B&M, and so on. That would be pretty awesome

How are you going to pull off collision detection? It seems very complex because the program should change the angle of a support to miss the danger zone and not just take away a support that was in the way like Woodies.

They didn't work for me earlier, but do now.

If you can pull it off like Buster did with the AHG, it'd be awesome to have support style determined by color. Maybe have a readme with example pictures. Probably should use colors different than those used to control AHGing just to kill possible mixups. But yeah, maybe have pure blue be B&M style "A" supports with equal sides, then pure yellow could be "A" supports shaped like right triangles, another color could be just a simple vertical support, etc. That'd give the user some nice control over their support types, which I think is much much better than having the program do everything for you, which would probably result in more post-NAS support mods.

Just have every type of design available. Giga Intamin, B&M, better Wooden if you want, Intamin General (maverick, exp. gforce), etc. And have maybe a "space between supports" option, and of course an auto collision detector AND fixer. Also have the track color the supports are being placed upon determine the size or something. Hope it goes great! good luck!

Yeah, spine color could be type then rail color could control size.

I know u said something like this is too complicated, but like Tia's wood generator, but with metal supports (H and L beams)

Or you could take all of 1 second to do that yourself. No exaggeration, that's real talk.

No, we seriously already have a generator that turns wooden into metal beams [lol] Sorry, I don't have a link for ya. Anybody else most likely would though.
