Do you listen to dance?

Well, see, I am addicted to dance music, I listen to all types. But since it is not really as popular as most think I want to know who here listens to it and what types from which artists? I will give examples.

Trance: artist would be: Tiesto

House:Kaskade

Techno:Our own DJ Javixxxxx (The music he uses usually is...)

Main-stream:Cascada[devilish]

Hardcore:DJ Psycho

Atmospheric:(Can not think of any)

Progressive:Accuface

Now I am not going to go into all the countless subcatagories such as tunnel trance but I would appreciate it listed in your post. Also feel free to post your opinions on this type of music.

I like all house and trance music, if its overloaded, plain or Psychotic , I'll listen to it. I'm not a big fan of all the other dance breeds like R&B but I do know when a track is worth playing to a crowd or not at a specific moment.

As for Dj?????????ing, I'm still practicing, but I don't believe that anybody has ever perfected it, for me the main problem is to perfect using effects like spin downs, ups etc at the correct pace and places during a song. I did mix some private sessions for house party?????????s but I'm done with that now I'll probably try to become a resident DJ next year at one of our local clubs here in SA. For now I'm totally over scheduled for work and studying.

I usually move to dance, not sure about you guys...

I listen to anything, but I dace to everything, especially at weddings.

About dj's comment, I am still in the works too. But as for me I do everything digitally but I wish to get a nice set of monitor speakers and turntables soon. Also I need a nice keyboard. So creating music on FL6 is hard at the moment but I am progressing very slowly.

I don't like dance. I hate dance. I dance to music, but I don't listen to dance music. I only listen to rap. I dance to hardcore rap beats though [:)].

Metal all the way but on ddr 80% of songs are dance.

ya, i listen to dance, techno, rap, pretty much anything but country and extreme rock and stuff like that. lol

Basement Jaxx has got some really good songs. I don't know what exactly you would classify them as.

just give me a good tune and im off, but i must say i do like my trance music alot. i got m any trance cds in my car ATM.
i love the old skool though, scooter and flip&fill and so on.

Mixed opinions.
"BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM *pop's pill* BOOM BOOM" isn't dance. If you think it is, you obviously have the problems Edge described. Complete utter 'wank'.

I dont mind some Floorfilla's dance, as long as its chilled. Also some with a little creativity, Scooter for instance, and of course Freddy Le'Grand's 'Put Your Hands Up for Detroit', but only for the video, for OBVIOUS reasons.

good ol' fashioned northern soul.. studio 1 era(early 60's) ska , straight up stinky ass funk, parliament, funkadelic , james brown, joe tex, hell i danced when we went to see stereolab.. but i really don't like "techno" type dance music much..

at the end of the day, dance music is only good when you are to high and in a magical world to hear it. All night raves = yes, listening to the music itself = no
