Did anyone else see Grindhouse over the weekend? I just saw it this afternoon and I thought it was great, best movie(s) I've seen in awhile. So for those who have seen it, did you like it, and which one did you think was better? I'm leaning towards Planet Terror but I'm still not really sure, I'll probably end up seeing it again sometime soon.

I really wanna see it. I love how it's a double feature and the films themselves look awesome.

Don't hate your parents too much, this movie's definitely rated R for a reason.

i agree with dave, it just doesnt look appealing to me at all.
also im not sure if its just the trailers or if the whole film is the same, but it looks like they purposely used indecent cameras to give it a more rustic sort of erie feel, and i cant stand when movies are like that.

Planet Terror is definitely better. It was sickly funny and was just fun to watch.

However, Death Proof was awful. Quentin seemed like he had no idea what he was wanted out of the film. The beginning of it made sense and had it's very entertaining violence and references to previous Tarantino movies, but after the first car crash, the movie was pointless and was filled with boring humorless talk about absolutely nothing until a random and uneventful car chase broke out. And then it just ended blatantly and stupidly.

If I had known better, I would of walked out before Death Proof started and saved myself the extra hour to watch something better.

I've only seen bits and peices of it, being that i work at a movie theater. But it looks wicked good. We tried to get a premiere on Thursday night, but the last movie for thursday didn't get out untill 10:45, and Grindhouse is over 3 hours long.

i'll probably go see it some time this week.

I have seen all three saws, all three final destinations, 2 cubes, b&p of puppet master, b&p of sin city, and stay alive. Enough said.

What does that have to do with your parents preventing you seeing a film you are not old enough for? No normal person argues like that because it's stupid. You would not argue that way if you've done something wrong, would you?

You want to hear something stupid? in the non english speakin countries Grindhouse will be shown as two independent movies, since we're not familiar with the Grindhouse culture. What is even worse, is that here in Norway, Death Proof will have a premiere 1st of July, while Planet Terror don't come before September! That is pretty outrageous imo. I'm a big Tarrantino and Rodriguez fan, and seeing as I want to see the movie as originally intended I'll probably end up downloading it.

How was the fake trailers between the movies? They sound like fun[:)] I'm really looking forward to seeing this. And yeah, the age limit propably is there for a reason.

1) The Saw Trilogy is not frightening whatsoever, nor should you believe you can handle anything after seeing it.
2) ...Final Destinations!? Those movies are just a bunch of jokes with no terror included. Wow
3) Stay Alive is the single most stupid movie ever made.
4) Not enough! Listing 10 movies or so which, quite frankly, aren't that seriously mature, does not pass you off as able to see Grindhouse...

...trust me I would know, as any other person that has seen it [;)]
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

I thought it was fantastic!. Planet Terror was brilliant and Rose McGowen was sexy as hell. The trailers in between were hysterical. Death Proof had some issues though. One action sequence in the first 30 minutes and then nothing but dialogue for almost an hour. I realized the conversations that were had were sort of necessary to the plot and he wanted the women to seem like badass men but, sometimes Tarentino is way too proud of the dialogue he writes. It was still really entertaining. So good I forgot that it had been almost 4 hours since I'd smoked. Very nostalgic for those of us who remember the grindhouse cinema of the 70's. And, Rodriguez's score was really impressive.

you're just upset because I didn't take you along with me on friday.

BTW, Grindhouse=Awsome. Seriously, all those who say the gun for a leg is retarded, realize that this film isn't suppose to be taken seriously. If it was a Will Ferrel comedy you would be like, "zOMG guy'z that be so freaking funniez!!!1111000"

In a lot of cases, Planet Terror is a "horror comedy." It's very fun to watch and very amusing. You aren't suppose to go in to the movie expecting to take it seriously. Just go in and watch it, and be amazed. This is really some of the most fun that you will have at the movies. The audience really adds the atmosphere to it so don't go when it's not going to be dead either. Try and go when you know that there is going to be a reasonable crowd of people there as well.[:)]

May be so. But, after seeing the first 2 and seeing the stupidity, I wanted to see the third (Please do not question my logic[lol]). But then, I saw the preview. First thing that popped up was a roller coaster crashing. I said "Never." I am never ever going to see that movie. If I had the rights, I would sue. All they are doing is taking roller coasters, and ruining their reputation even MORE. I know it is just a stupid movie, but the general public who was previously afraid of roller coasters will say "Exactly what would happen to me. Not riding one ever." Even people who have ridden them will most likely get their minds reset after seeing that fake, stupid roller coaster crash on the freakin' movie. It sickens me to wonder what the fxck the writers were thinking to ruin the reputation of roller coasters more. It sickens me.

Thats just my two cents.
Also, pertaining to the topic, I have not seen that movie.
X2 ??? Intimidator 305 ??? Millennium Force ??? Iron Rattler ??? El Toro ??? Fury 325 ??? Maverick ??? Skyrush ??? Twisted Timbers ??? Voyage

A lot of you guys dont seem to understand the whole Grindhous concept and the fact that its supposed to relate to the Grindhouse culture of decades back. Before you say "Blah Blah Blah its stupid you cant have a gun for a leg" try looking up some information on the movies that these 2 movies are supposed to relate too. It tends to help if you get some knowledge before you something stupid about something you don't understand.

And B and M, are you serious?????? Grow up man...you're parents probably no whats best for you, since judging by your posts here and in other threads you're definitely not mature enough to see a movie like Grindhouse.

When I saw it yesterday, there were 10 people in the theatre aside from my boyfriend and I. We were laughing so much and the other poeple were looking at us crazy. I realized then that a lot of people weren't going to get this movie. It was still fun to be the psychos in a group of people who spent 3 hours of their Easter Sunday watching this stuff.

1st of all, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO REALLY!? the cameras they used were fine. the old film effect was added in during editing.

2nd of all, you've obviously never seen an old film and/or true art when it comes to cinema. a truly good movie these days is like a diamond in the rough. a lot of movies today are either overblown trilogies which are only good in the first one of the series because they had to be good (IE, Spiderman, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Matrix) or some dumb movie with little to no originality.

I have to admit, that if it wasn't for Death Proof, I'd say this is probably the best movie I've seen this whole year [lol] Planet Terror had everything. Sex, Drugs, Violence, Humor, Drama, Emotional crap etc, It was all loaded into one, it was just hysterical yet "tight" [lol] I loved it [:)]
