Just earlier last week, I was cured of what I call a chronic roller coaster "slump". I have been having a bitch of a time trying to come up with new creative designs and an even harder time remaing committed to getting the put into the editor. Well, it seems that it's no longer an issue, as I design two completed tracks last week.

In spite of this newly found inspiration within, I have begun a new woodie called Lapalis. It's my belief that it will turn out to be the most insane and exhilerating I've come up with to date. So far today, I've finished a fun station drop-out, the initial drop, a second airpacked hill, and most of the first turnaround. Once more is finished, you'll be able to see that my main influence on this ride is Ghostrider of Knott's. For an unknown and spontaneous reason, I've become very fond of Ghostrider and just it's activity and layout in general. Which is why I've thought about profiling it.

Thanks! I have all the help I need for now.

I know exactly what you're going through with the slump, but the prelift and that spiraling turn look very interesting. Good luck with this.

Thanks to all that offered help. The track will be officially finished sometime this weekend, so expect it in your inboxes sometime then. I will also PM you when it's sent.

UPDATE: I have finished some official and unofficial elements.

Image

Here is shown how far I've gotten since yesterday after fully smoothing the first segments and tweaking a few errors that Iron Man pointed out to me. As of now, the hill leading away from the first turnaround is official along with the second turnaround after it.

This section, an extended rightward banked straight-away, I'm becoming very fond of. However, as is, it remains unofficial. I like how it affects the forces and anticipation (rapid yet comfortable whip lead-in, and moment of confusion for middle and back seats ["why are we leaning"]). But, it's difficult to smooth and make completely safe, so if I cannot find a way to get it to its appropriately fitting stage, I'll trash it and dig for more unusual elements.

[edit] You may have noticed, my new boatfloater is fidgeting with screens [:D]

The heartline looks really messed up in that turn, so try editing it around that.

Yeah I have run it through AHG with a low Heartline, but that doesn't help. I've tried hand-heartlining it, still nothin' doin'. The thing that works most is stretching the lead-in and lead-out all the way to tomorrow, but that just destroys its excitement. I'll work on it tonight and if nothing works with it, it's gone.

I would just do a quick curve like on Renegade then. It looks like your ride could use a nice little low section.

UPDATE: I found a way to get the angled-section to work. Not like this will cause a surprise, but Iron Man's advice once again helped greatly. He told me to turn off con roll and lessen the banking value. Even though it was quite simple, it paid off at a high degree. Now the lead out is smoother along with the lead-in.

Last night I was zipping through the layout, and even connected it at the end, but there were pumps everywhere, so I deleted all my progress until the angled-section lead out. I felt like I was rushing, and I want this design to be the wildest and best it can be! Here's what the angled-section looks like now:

EDIT: SECOND UPDATE

Alright, I've realized I had some really near headchoppers, so I decided to go ahead and tunneltest. It passed 100%, and I just thought I'd show off how amazing and safe my choppers are [:D]

EDIT: THIRD UPDATE

I've been working like mad today after school (about an hour and a half) and the first half has been Officially 100% Tunneltested, and Officially 100% Handsmoothed to best. After the angled-section, I still have some work to do, so I highly doubt I'll be completely finished by this weekend as some of this design calls for custom supports.

Here is the latest update on the official layout. You'll see the angled-section straightaway is safely stuck in there, and I'm very excited that I was able to keep it [;)]

!!Also, a special announcement that I wanted to save for now, this is going to be an all enclosed woodie!! I'll use the Wood Magic catwalks for the main structure, and possibly 3Ds for other areas. Thank you, stay tuned for more!

[edited addition] I deeply apologize for the shiz quality of these pictures. They don't look like that as I see them on the screen, but when I use printscreening, they show up like that with IrfanView. If I find a way to prevent show-ups like that in the future, I'll go with it. Sorry again.
