It might well be one of the usual information transmission errors. We all do know that press in general and coaster enthusia$$ts in particular have a really hard time with any physical units. While no one cares
(and ever will), there still is another important physical unit for coasters, namely for jerks
(aka change rate of G-forces) which is: "G/s"
What if "the media"
(as usual) messed "Gs" with "Gs per second"? A value of 6-7G/s is very likely for many coasters, it's even perfectly safe in terms of rider's health, yet not pleasant any more in many cases.
So this might not be "the explanation" you
(and others? anyone?) are seeking, but IMO there's a very likely chance that the news just went bonkers that way, like they always do... [:D]
