NOTE: Scoring

For this contest I'd like to change the scoring from TAO. I will be scoring with the following criteria:

-Adherence to Guidelines (Following the rules) 10 points
-Realism (survivability, support structures) 15 points
-Functionality (E-stop test, ride capacity) 15 points
-Re-rideability (fun, original) 10 Points

This contest is scored out of 50 possible points.

Uh, yeah. Hes gonna lock this topic anyways. NLT is still going on.
And this is very unorganized either way. No specific rules, no guidelines that actually say something. And no template. Work on this idea, make a template and create some specific rules and guidelines, maybe even get someone to donate towards a prize. Then pm Oscar to ask permission first. Then people will join. If I see that it is better organized than now, I will get a few people to join.

P.S. - Take a look at Round 2 of the NLT.
Great template, great rules. Try to do something professional looking like this:

Comments in bold:

Task: To build a new Intamin LSM Blitz coaster (Ex. Maverick at CP)

-Must have a beyond 90 degree drop
(Why so unoriginal? Now every ride will have a minimum of 91 degrees on the drop...)
-Must be under 150 ft
(Ok, under 45m [:)])
-Must contain at least one inversion
-Must not be a recreation
(Building a NEW intamin can't be a recreation. Also sending in recreations is just purely lame if you do that...)
-Must have realistic supports
(Where do you draw the line of what's realistic and what not?)
-Must have realistic g forces
(Same as above: Where do you draw the line of what's realistic and what not? Maybe it's easier for the G's to just give a proper limit.)

The rest is up to you!
(Oh really? Usually it's much more fun when you'd get a cool template to work with. Now it's just building a coaster with a few guidelines.)
Cartexture and scenery reccomended but not required.
(So heavily themed rides immediately win?)
Points will not be deducted for using trains without OTSRs.
(Uhm... Do we have intamin trains with OSRT's in NL? No...)

Join by simply posting "I'll join" below; all entries must be claimed by Wednesday, March 25th, when official competetor roster will be posted.
(So the deadline of signing up will be the 25th? why not just updating the signups everytime in the first posts when people enter?)

Final coaster must be completed and uploaded by Friday April 10th. Post a link to download page in this topic; winner will be announced Saturday April 11 or sunday April 12 Depending on the number of entrys.
(So you are planning to judge in only in a single day? I hope we do get some quality rates than...)

Oh well, sign me up. I'll see if i can get something finished.
Coastercount: 1410 (I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@)

Some stuff like g-forces are always good to have some exact numbers that you think that is realistic for this type. Someone might think 2g lat is realistic, and other people only say 1g lat. Oh well, same goes for template. Usually a template add really something to the challenge [:)]

As far as g's go, try to keep it in the "green g's" but if you have a few instances of "yellow g's" its not a huge deal, maverick is forceful.

What i consider to be realistic supports would be:
- Enough to support the track (obviously)
- Varying supports (not all straight posts)
- Realisitic (could hold themselves up too, i've seen ones that would collapse without a track on them)

And im planning to judge this is one or two days, right now we have 3 competetors, HOPEFULLY WE GET MORE, but it shouldnt take that long.

It's an unofficial contest, which don't have to be approved, and can be run at any time by anyone. There really aren't any guidelines for these, just suggestions like "come up with an original idea if you want people to be interested enough to join."
