Hi guys, I haven't been on this site for a while.

This week I went to Cedar Point with my family. When we arrived Sunday afternoon it was raining. It finally stopped raining at 9:00 and we decided to enter the park. I rode Magnum, which was a thrill since it was the first coaster I have ridden taller than 150 feet. The park was empty so I was able to WALK ON to the front seat of Maverick twice. That coaster is amazing. It is so smooth and the lat g's are very low, so your head does not get banged around very much. After that, I rode TTD on the last ride of the night. TTD is not as scary or intimidating as it looks and sounds. The best word to describe it is exhilarating. Over the next 24 hours I rode coasters 13 more times. Before the trip was over I rode every coaster except the kiddie ones, I rode most of them at least twice, and I rode front row as often as I could. TTD is the best coaster to ride in the front row. I did it twice and it is a blast. I avoided lines when I could, and I never waited over an hour.

My favorite rides were, by far, Maverick, TTD, and MF. They are all very smooth and well-engineered as well as exciting and easy to ride.

Maverick has the feel of riding a jet fighter plane. The maneuvers are clean and crisp. The launch in the middle of the ride gives the effect of turning on the afterburners. The inversions are both zero-g rolls and they are very fun. I loved that ride. However, it broke down very often when I was there, and that made it hard to ride more than twice. I finally got to ride it for a third time at 9:50 pm on the last night of my trip, and I had to get in line at 9:00 to ride it again.

Overall, Cedar Point is an incredible park. The people are very nice and friendly compared to my experiences at Elitch Gardens. It is definitely worth staying at the Hotel Breakers. Even though the hotel itself is crappy, the proximity to the park and the hour-early entry make it worth it.

I have some pictures that I will share when I get done processing them in Photoshop.

And while Maverick is good front seat, Mav is definatly better in the back.

I think the only rides that usually get the official "The" as a part of their name are older rides, or parks that use an old school feel.

Holiday World is one of them. Its, The Raven Coaster, The Legend Coaster and The Voyage Coaster if you look at any of their merchandise or brochures. Even the logos write it out like that I believe.

Glad not everyone ends their sentences with a ... Which is meant to signify something that keeps going...and going...and going...and going... ... ... ...

Um what does that have to do with anything?

Meanwhile I always say to my freinds, the best time to go to a park is when it is rainy weather or is abought to drizzle. The park is empty.

sorry for not posting, for some reason the forum freaked out when i posted the topic and i assumed that something was broken, anyway go to poohblah.deviantart.com or poohblah.gfxartist.com to see the pics and some other photos i have (photography is my hobby)

i dunno what was up with Mav when it was down, it was down for a while, when TTD broke down a mechanic worked on the LIMs for 15 minutes with a blowtorch and it was good, but Mav was down for 45 minutes before i bailed. my best guess is that it was one of the two LIMs.

Nice trip. I thought Maverick had some good laterals on those bankings, definately more lats there than on the actual turns. The 95 degree drop and camel back are probably my favorite parts of the ride simply because of the incredible airtime.

I took front seat on TTD 2 or 3 years ago. Definately gives you the wind, and the launch is pretty good up there too. Airtime at the top is usually decent in any seat, but perhaps it's the large size that makes it better. (and increases it's duration)

Yup, CP never gets old, even after going there 4 years in a row and a 5th time 2 years after.

Yeah that is a great park. You can go on half the big rides and still be entertained.

my favorite parts of Mav were the zero-G rolls, but i have never ridden a coaster with a zero-g roll before anyway.

mav does a very good job of following the heartline through the turns
