1500 bhp is an ablsoloute thrashing load of power. the biggest problem with the car is there isnt enough tourch for it, whats the point of having all that power without being able to put it on the floor. i would still prefur a real good off-roader

He's gonna blow out the engine eventually. After all, there's a reason Ford kept the GT40 at a lower horsepower than its competitors. Nonetheless, that was an enjoyable vid so thanks for the link gazag. Back when I was carshopping a year or so ago, I remember seeing a twin turbo supra with widebody kit and pretty much every mod possible that had 1700 bhp and could run 0-100 m/h in 6 or so seconds. That thing was amazing.
But if he really wants a car that's rediculously fast at a rediculously high price, he should've just taken a McLaren F1 and modded it. I've always wondered just how fast they could be made to go. I imagine 0-100 in 5 wouldn't be too unreasonable if money is not a factor.

As a sidenote, if you want to see another video of a really fast car, check this out. http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/records/part6.html
The Ultima GTR, which ran 0-100-0 in an amazing 9.4 secs. (Faster than most supercars run 0-100)

theres one big problem with the McLaren F1, the engine is un-upgradeable. its basicly maxed out to the point if any more performace was put throught the engine block you would put a whole in it. look at it being supercharged and covered in gold plated heat reflectors. no way are you getting any more performance without a new engine.

He said he was going to order a bigger engine for the GT. He knows (as well as the tech heads) that they can only take that stock engine so far. So its not like hes going to blow it without knowing.

Plus the F1 is way uglier. Looks still matter. Especially if you own your opponent and then stop in a car as sexy as the GT.

I like the F1's looks. Granted the GT40 is one sexy car, but the F1 is pretty nice itself. And as far as modding an F1 engine goes, there was a reason I said if money is not a factor. It would be an expensive process, but through basically renovating the engine and minimalizing the interior (As was done with the GTR) I'm sure it could get a good deal faster. Mclaren is basically top notch at engineering amongst supercar makers, so the chassis and everything could probably handle a much larger engine without too many problems. I guess we'll never know until some superrrich guy comes along and gives it a try though. [:P]

Might have a bit of trouble acquiring an F1 too, but I'm sure it's possible.

1300-1500 is probably possible, it wouldn't overheat. Supercharging creates more heat than twin turbos, and the car originally came supercharged. Only problem I could see is that there probably aren't good enough tires to effectively get that power to the ground.

Real, you know what I meant [;)]

And that GTTT is simply ridiculous. Im not sure...Ive always loved the Ford GT (seen it 4 times in person - 2 on road) and this might make it a fave.

Oh yea, we'll I've seen it twice in person. One at the LA Auto Show and once on the road. Unfortunately, everyone in OC hills area prefer ferrari to all the other super car models so all you see is a bunch of ferraris..[B)]

I concur coolbeans. [:P] I've seen one at the LA auto show and 2 on the road, but I've seen sooooo many Astons and Ferraris and the like I'm starting to get sick.
To go off on a tangent, the nicest car I've ever seen in person outside of an Auto Show: Porsche Carrera GT. I saw one at the local country club in the parking lot, and those things are BEAUTIFUL. They look even better in person then they do in mags and all.

Even though it's only 34K (from the way I built it on the site), the Mazda RX-8 is one my favorites.

BTW, does anyone find this to be worth $164,252.52? The Hummer GT: biggest oxymoron ever.

I hate to bring back an old topic but...

I was at the Greenwich Concourse d'Elengance and there were tons of exotics there such as a Veyron, Carrera GT, numerous Ferraris, Mercedes..you name it, it was there. There was also a Spyker C8. I sat in it last year and the interior blew me away.

What was your favorite car that you sat in?

that's a very hard question to answer.. i can give a list
out of the cars i've owned i'd say my 1986 v.w. jetta... great gas milage, safe car, looked good, easy to maintain(wonderful actually)and handled really good. and of course there was my bitchen 61 dodge..
but that sort of thing isn't my cup of tea when it comes to "jay's fantasy garage'
my favorite car that i ever got to drive was the fie engine red 1966 studebaker commander my mom had, when i was learning to drive.. not your typical studebaker( not yucky lookin') and since it was built in canada after studebaker had shut down their plant in indiana it had some real special goodies like a chevy thunderbolt that had been bored by a previous owner.. the draw backs were that different systems in the cars had been made by varying manufactures.. and no ebay.. parts got scarce and they sold it without asking me..
but the car i really like the most would be a '49 or '50 "shoebox' ford, with a 260 from an old falcon or fairlane (not bad on gas) a matching manual transmission,( i'd still like to keep the column shifter) and then i'd take the brakes off a granada or one of those ugly ass early 80's t-birds and put them on there. the rims would be original, so that one could not see, at first glance, the suspension or brake work, and there'sd be either original ford hubcaps or just plain moon discs. then i'd take it down south and have a real, genuine, Tijuana tuck and roll upholstery job done, in oxblood. then i'd have it painted black(duh) and have a shizload of coats of clearcoat over it... mmmm.
but i'll settle for a 62 t-bird(base model.. stock.. the electrical system in the fancy ones is a nightmare)
or a '67 ranchero with the afore mentioned front suspension modification
or a chevy II
or a '63 buick special convertible
or a '64 ford fairlane 500 sports coupe
a 1970 lincolm mk 5 coupe would be nice
who doesn't want a nomad..

Ugh I have a few,

My favorite newer model car is either the New Mini cooper, or The Corvette C6 coupe.

My favorite older is the 1969 Corvetter singray split window coupe with either a blue or a silver paint job.

As much as I love all types of cars, I tend to favor modern and newer cars the most, however, I can't let this slip away... the Ferrari 250 GTO
