Geauga Lake's Raging Wolf Bobs roller coaster was closed after an accident on Saturday. Amusement park officials said 24 passengers were on the ride when the train didn't make it up the lift hill and rolled backed down. The passengers were all examined and returned to the park. The cause of the accident is under investigation. The ride will remain closed until it is complete.

If you are going to make a scene, be seen.

^ i would say it is with those damn Gerstlauer trains. When it first opened it ran PTC trains, and ran much, much faster, like 10 to 15 MPH at the final brake, thats a big difference.

all of that probably has nothing to do with this accident, but hey.

Howso? What does the ride have to do with those two designers?

And how does a train roll back down the lifthill with anti-rollbacks? I could see Gerstlauer failing to add anything to "catch" the anti-rollbacks on the lift. Image

^???? are you kidding.. the ride was advertised as "the legend continues" or something simular.. it was supposed to be a recreation of the riverview bobs.. i've always wanted to ride it, but people tell me it isn't that great, and certainly doesn't live up to it's name..
(sorry about the blunt unedited post.. my dad just called to tell me his sister died, just after i typed the part about riverview.. i wasn't paying attention when i submitted it)

The article says it "didn't make it up A hill" not the lift hill. There is another web site saying it was a rear car derailment and that considerable damage was done to trains and track. But, with no serious injuries, I'm not sure how much damage exactly.

Okay... I was just asking. I didn't know about that.

But yeah, this kind of stuff happens. New rides are built to be based off of older ones, and they are nowhere near as great as the originals. Raging Wold Bobs is of course nothing worth riding (I rode it after the second half was retracked, and it still wasn't fast enough to have any airtime), but look at the Twister II situation. That ride absolutely sucks, which I doubt anyone could say about Mr. Twister.

Yeah, the Knoebels Twister is one of the few rides designed after a legendary coaster that is probably anywhere near the quality of the original. It's incredibly intense, and is probably top 5 for me.
