Sorry guys, I'll get back to working on New Mexico Rattler soon, but over the recent excitement of myself learning how to use FVD's, I created a thrilling Intamin Hyper. Here are some stats and some screens:

Manufacturer: Intamin AG
Length: 4901
Height: 210
Speed: 76 m.p.h.
Vert: 4.7 / -1.3
Lat: 0.5
Trains: 3, with 8 cars each

Next Sunday is looking probable for release.

Looking good, the FVDs really are fun once you get the hang of them.

Yeah, it's so much better than regular old elementary when it comes to using formulas...it's enjoyable to see what your sick mind can come up with!

And quicker! No pain of rotating tracks, matching up exits and entrances, no circles really, etc etc

BTW, the coaster looks great!

It looks like a hyper alright. I hope this one's gonna portray some creativity. Many hypers these days don't turn out much originality anymore. But I'm loving the look of the turn-around and the peninsula setting.

Hey, J-kizle - (hah) Can you show me a formula from the bottom of a hill to the bottom of another with an airtime hill inbetween? Trial and error isnt workin out and that all Im tryin to figure out right now...

EDIT - Never mind. Actually figuring it out.

Alright, sounds good. Air hills come out really nice with fvd due to the ability to "hold" a certain value (negative).

Indeed I can, actually.
I've made a helix, loop, and corkscrew. I'm just starting, but I can use it.

Only problem Im having is making a hill that actually looks symetrical.

Yeah that can be tricky. It took a little while to do it by trial and error on my Yeehaw! track. If I remember correctly, I built the first hill up to the apex, and then built the second half with nearly the same g force values.

There are in fact exact numeric solutions to achieve things like that. But had we extended the FVDs with these, we would have made them even more entirely incomprehensible than these already have been thrown at you.

Therefor, like with any such self dis-orienting plug and pray method, this should become quite tedious.

For the ordinary earthling, it's a strictly evolutionary process. [8D]

Small support update: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/i29779

I'm also trying to come up with a structure for the hill going over the water...does anyone have any suggestions?

I would just build the supports like normal, going into the water. Unless you don't want them in the water...

You sure you need that many supports on the lift? [:P]

The spacing I'm using in that pic is 12 ties...do you think I should up it to 15 or something?

Yeah, I think they should be spaced out a bit more. Even though your coaster is taller, EGF and Goliath in Europe have significantly less lift supports than what you have already.

Well if you think about it, theres ZERO directional change forces and stresses, which is what most complicated support structures are for. There is only need to support the weight of the train, which honestly isnt THAT much. If you've got a 4 rail track I think you can get by with about half the supports, just delete every other one...

I think I'm just going to space the ones I have evenly so they get me to the top.
