Ok so my friend have a dell Inperon E1505 running windows Vista basic with an ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 but he can't run NL. When it finished installing it sad there was a problem with the graphics driver. I was wondering if anyone else has this card or a similay probem. I figure i sould ask you guys here what to do about it so if there is anything he can do. I ussually can help but i'm lost!

Thats not a great graphics card to run NL on. Laptops are pretty bad when trying to run No Limits. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on a GeForce 8600 GTS with 2 GB of system RAM. I am very happy with it and I never have less than 99 FPS in NL unless its a wood coaster. Then they never go lower than 70 even on high detail. Tell him to use NL on a desktop rather than a laptop.

I've been reading and hearing ALOT about ATI drivers having conflicts with Vista. You'll just most likely have to wait for new drivers to come out. Also, how couldn't your friend hear about the problems?

WOW! I run mine on a laptop and you are correct! I get about 35 fps average on steel and about 10 fps average on wooden.. Not very good :(

Just a negative thought. I always use Nolimits to check my PC performance. But trust me a computer unfortunately is a digital machine and will always have its limits. Even if you?????????re running a quadro FX you will still have a maximum amount of leaves it can render. Over 3 years your card is going to be out dated as the new shader model comes out and such. Nobody can keep up. My method in fighting Moors law is to use a thing till it brakes before I buy a new one.

well i have a E1705 and NL runs great. The frame rate never drops below 60. I have a NVidia Geforce Go 7900 GS with 1 GB of RAm and i am happy with my results.

If you want vista, Nvidia is the way to go. I am running Vista Ultimate with a Geforce 7950GT and it runs great.

1- Quadro FX cards are designed for workstations, not gaming; its performance in a game would be much different compared to that of a video card designed for gaming.

2- New hardware may come out a lot, but that doesn't mean the software changes all the time. NL does not make use of any of the newest hardware features (to the best of my knowledge, at least). The only time you'd need to upgrade a video card that already runs NL well is when NL2 is released (new engine).

who has laptops Pshhh.

i do.. sadly, i never wanted a laptop. I always though they suck in comparason to desktops. But when i went to uni, i coudn't/didn't want to bring my desktop back and forth to london and greece every few months when i went back to visit family here in greece.

Now that iv got a laptop, im quite happy with it, its mobile, so i just switch it on in the morning, play something, then go to work with it in my hand, and it becomes a work computer, whilst having all my stuff on it XD
