My first "big" rollercoaster was the Hulk at Universal. My sister forced me on it, literally. It was like being dragged by an evil robot... I was completely petrified. I think I got so scared that I had a mental shut down while riding. But, hey, after that, I went on it at least 10 more times!

I am terrified (completely) of heights...like planes, ladders, trees, skyscrapers. But those things I don't trust. I'll trust a Roller Coaster with my life [;)]

The coaster that "unlocked" me to everything else was Great Bear at Hershey Park. Before I rode it I went on things like Lightning Racer and Dragon Coaster at Rye Playland.

It's almost like riding a bike.....I suppose.

Like Real said, I get scared because of the feelings you get on the ride. I dont think twice about it crashing but the reason i hated Detonator (TP) so much was that feeling you get on the way down. I hated it.

My first ride ever was Tower of Terror in Florida. I dont really remember much about it apart from i was really nervous so i dont know weather because i was scared of that i ve been scared of them ever since?

Thanks Indi, your story has helped. I feel much more comfortable with my family on rides with me anyway.
(Sorry i havnt been posting much. I was really busy yesterday!)
And thanks for all your comments so far!

The ride that did it for me was mind eraser at elitch. I rode it with all my nerve and my mom practly draged me on. About 50 ft up i say i want off but its too late. The first drop is bad past that its awesome.
Trim breaks are your enemy, retracking/smoothing is your friend. I miss b&m floored sit downs. coaster count=39

To me, some people are born to ride coasters. They start when they're little and never have to deal with fear. That was not the case for me. Up until about 2002 there were many roller coasters I simply would not ride.

I didn't go on anything that looped, but I loved mine trains and wooden coasters. The loops just scared me. I remember the first time I went to Elitches and looked at the coasters there. It seemed much safer in the water park. Slowly however I gained courage mostly from RCT. I'll ride anything now. Once you get used to how certain elements behave, you have no trouble.

Looking back on my 2003 Magic Mountain trip I feel stupid that I missed so many of the coasters there. At least I got my Psyclone credit. Anyways, no coasters scare me now. First time rides always bring something unexpected, but ultimately there no fear, only excitement.

Heh, I started riding when I was 3 and after that there was no turning back. I even rode my first 'looping coaster' (Loch Ness Monster) before the times that I even can remember this day!

The only way to get over a fear is to 'do' that fear...like ride a rollercoaster!

The coaster that made me fearless was Thunder Run at CW, I was 4...Like Jakizle said, no turning back [lol] From there was Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster, and then everything else at CW. That was basically it...after we got tired of the smaller rides there, we just decided to go other places and ride bigger things. Thunder Run and Ghoster Coaster prepared me for everything [:D]
