Stealing (aka sharing) tracks??? HUH???

I just do not understand the fascination with people posting tracks that belong to someone else, and thinking that they are just "sharing them" for others to see all the while seeking rates for the track. I mean, come on already!

Well he posted it because it wasn't on the site and he wanted others to see it?

Sounds OK as long as you tell people where you get it and give credit to the original creator, And about that rate thing, you choos to rate yourself isn't it??

this is kinda the same thing as the topic we had about this last week... they just don't know, or some of them dont think people will realize...

No its not ok. Its still stealing. Unless the original creator gave permission its not ok. If some random kid was posting my rides on other sites under his username, but still giving some sort of credit to me, i would not be fine with that. Delete the track.

Even if you post the name it's still stealing. The only reason you should be able to use things from other people is if they give their permission to you. And, if that site has sharing rules anything like the ones here, then that track is under the sole ownership of Coaster-net. Give him a harsh warning and if he repeats the offense then I say ban.

With permission of course, i only said that posting someones elses track to show it people and telling who made it is ok, if you have permission...

The way i see it is as long as they say its not theres but there sharing it from another site it should be ok. As long as they include that i don't have a problem.

I think he really didn't know it would be a problem. If he gets a warning, I'm sure he won't do it again.

Yeah if you have permission then fine, but if you're just posting it because you want to, then I think it's wrong even if you so say whose it is.

You shouldn't post other peoples track. If he wanted this track to be shared with the people on this site, he could have asked the creator to register here and post it. How are we gonna know that the creator gave permission anyway? sharing=stealing

Unfortunately, yes.

I believe it is worth discussing -- that way, when it happens in (oh lets say 3 or 4 minutes form now) it can be referred to, and then users can be tar'd and feathered.

The creator puts his or her track where he or she wants it. It's no one else's decision. There is nothing to debate here.
