I remember a while ago, when I was making my usual rounds on viewing lectures and videos on physiology and philosophy, that I made the shocking discovery that some people believe that Evolution does not exist. I was baffled by the claims of these people, stating that the eye is to irreducibly complex to have been evolved, when we know exactly how it did become what it was, the stages of the evolution of the eye is supported by the organisms and fossils we have found. There were claims made that it was possible to have changed genus, but not family or kingdom, but despite my efforts at showing these people what evolution is, they refused to accept it, they marked it as not true. Long story short, do you think that evolution is true?

Hopefully you haven't started another debate here (even though you probably did) because it's a pointless one to have, no one is going to change their mind on this issue. I personally don't see how anyone can ignore all of the evidence for the theory of evolution, but, anyone who doesn't believe in evolution is just as set in their beliefs, and neither is going to even consider changing their mind. It should be interesting to see the results of the poll though, even if there's a little chaos because of it.

I would also like poll takers to post why they chose what they chose, no matter what option.

Evolution, just because it's logic, it might be hard to understand, but at least there's a lot of evidence for it

Evolution just makes sense to me, it seems like the natural thing to happen over the course of time, small mutations in animals and plants randomly end up being helpful every few million years, and eventually, the mutation ends up being more common that what used to be normal.

Yeah practically, up where I come from, such divisive dogmatism is not as abundant, or forced upon, as it is in the land of the free...

I guess I was living under I rock, I was young and did not do much research on the world today. I believed in things like Santa Claus, the Boogey man, and God. (Just kidding, I never believed in the Boogey man, but my point is shaped well by it).

EDIT: And I in NOW WAY am insinuating that Theists are not intelligent.

I disagree, minding your own business does not let you be free of what everyone cares in your country (as when you refer to here).

No, I have not been submitted anti-American propaganda, but nowhere on earth are there people who are not hated deeply by other people. If you are an evolutionist, a creationist will maul you down, if you are a homosexual, nut jobs will bash you, no matter who you are, you belong so some minority.

Misogynistic men care nothing for woman, racism is still around, and allowed much more then it should be (which is at all), in certain places. Peoples religious ideologies are constantly being bashed by other religious ideologies and people trying to tell them that what they believe in makes them delusional. Or people that believe that super natural deities do not exist, they seem to be getting it the worst lately, though the death penalty is no longer widely used as punishment for those that think this, it is still an abomination that people are getting killed for such beliefs that do not harm anyone. Infinitely interesting is the human mind and the things it has conceived, but the hatred it has spewed out would make anyone cry. Discrimination, especially in such harsh hateful ways, should be looked upon by anyone as inhuman, but our own arrogant minds give us a false idea that our morales are better then others, and how I say things happened and how things should be done are better then your ideas. The only real enemy or threat people have, is people.

That is chuffing depressing...

Honestly you have to be a step above retarded not to believe in evolution and still function as a human being.

The creationist agenda is laughable because they're all "Darwin was wrong" yet they neglect to realize this has been proven and replaced by a better version of the basic theory since the 1970's. Darwin was a giant step in the right direction, but his whole survival of the fittest scheme is wrong and filled with many holes. These are the same idiots that believe we came from monkeys. We didn't come from monkeys, monkey's evolved on a different branch of the "tree". We're really from a primitive tree climbing marsupial if you want to trace it back and be all technical. The evolution creationism debate is just another case of people not knowing a damn of what they're talking about but continuing to do so anyways.

Eldridge and Gould's Punctuated Equilibrium theory is widely ignored by creationist asshats who run around trying to shove their beliefs down others throats because they can't disprove it. It matches the fossil record well and sets everything up well. I strongly recommend looking up Eldridge and Gould's Punctuated Equilibrium theory on the internet sometime.

Fun Facts:
~Darwin believed in a higher force "starting" the system that caused everything to evolve. So in a sense he believe in intelligent design.
~Gould is the man featured in the Simpsons episode where Lisa finds an angel.
"Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

Anyone who actually believes (not consider as a possibility, but believes) that organisms magically started gaining complexity by themselves and over time formed into human beings are complete morons. I don't care how much science bullsh1t is thrown at me, or "evidence" that fits a certain theory. The whole idea is illogical as an organism can't just magically start evolving into a more complex organism. That logic alone "erases" what evidence for evolution scientists have. But scientists don't take logic into account, and as a result make fools of themselves by trying to predict what happened throughout the course of earth's history.

If you or anyone else really think they know exactly what went on throughout the past millions/billions of years, it's quite sad. Evolutionists AND creationists make me laugh.

coaster kid nailed it. unless they are comepletely brainwashed by rhetoric, NO ONE discounts evolution and natural selection. and yes, darwin was a deist (and the story about him apologizing for it on his deathbed is a myth). he just wasn't mentally lazy enough to just blindly accept the notion that the earth and everything in it was created just the way it is by god in 6 days. . for some reason people have seen fit to lump evolution and the big bang theory into one thing.

Lmao, oh dear, and us just magically appearing from the 'big bang' is what you believe? God is just as illogical, really who believes there's this fairy tale land out there that we go to when we die? It's far more illogical for us to have just magically appeared.

And by the way, the cells in your body multiply and divide all the time, how do you think you get taller? Evolution is SO plausible it's not even funny, there's like no way you can prove it to be 'fake.'

I'll ignore the first paragraph as it has absolutely NOTHING to do with my post.

Growth =/= Evolution. Two completely different things.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not though...
