Funny clueless hockey fans....as for Bonds, hes a fat piece of worthless crap and is a waste of human space. Quite frankly I hope somebody cripples the overbloated twat before he hits 755. Hank Aaron was a great player and a paragon of baseball herois in every rite...Bonds is quite the contrary.
Really? Or was he just in an era where his competition wasnt at the same level as him? Should we asterick his name because he didnt have pitchers throwing the kinds of balls that are thrown today? Or throw 101mph?! Come on now...
Steroids...anyone think its really helped him? I can think of several other players who prove that the game is not about how strong you are but how well you swing the bat. Of course the speed of your bat at impact helps, but anyone here play baseball or golf? Its not about how HARD you swing. Muscle strength has little to do with that. I am not a very strong person at all. Im 6ft tall and during high school I was slightly overweight. I could still hit a golf ball, straight, 310+ yards and I did it not be swinging as hard as I could.
I think this whole issue is rediculous. Why he did it? I dont know. But I dont think it made him a better hitter. Look at A Rod! Hes going to shatter the record. Ive seen a few people speculate he could hit 900. Is he that big? No! Hes just got a great home run swing and he makes good choices. That and more people pitch to him than Barry...
But some of you are ridiculous. Taking steroids for baseball would be like taking roids for gold - pointless. I cant think of many places where you would have a
significant advantage. He was hitting home runs before and he was after. Plus, I would only expect him to get better as he focused more and more on his hitting and got better. Technology has come a long way and its evident by how many people can hit the long ball now just based on their
technique.
Hank Aaron was special. His record is special. But he didnt have half the crap thats being thrown at these guys now. Each era is different and if anything has progressed through the years more than another its pitching. So the fact that someone can hit 500,600 or 700 home runs now IMO is more of a feat than the old records.
