well. i'm defineately not a chicago fan, but i disagree. i'm positive that you'll find some great breaks on those records. they were all accomplished musicians, and they did do the soundtrack for "electroglide in blue"

lucky you.. true story.. i decided that for 50 cents i'd at least find one good song on the boston record... i wanted my 50 cents back.sure its a wonder of pure analog engineering but it's just annoying, i can hear those songs on the radio anytime, any day.. it's like catholic mass. somewhere in the worldat any given time" feels like the first time " is playing on a classic rock station. sold it for a dollar at the swap meet. pink floyd however.. well.. i used to have everything they put out before and including "the wall" on vinyl untill my cherished original emi copy of "piper at the gates of dawn" dissapeared. i know who stole it too. chuffer probabaly got 100 bucks for it on ebay. i loved that record. i had searched for years for it and it fianally wound up in my lap for free. now there's ebay and i'm chuffed.

the wall is a great record... they sold like a gazzillion copies of it, so it's not very rare. i did however pass up an originl harvest label copy of "meddle" about 3 weeks ago .. they wanted more than i'd pay..

GREAT FREAKIN ALBUM!!!!!!! does it have te posters and the stickers in it too?
this is one instance where i agree with the mainstream music press.. that album deserves it's status as one of ( or THE) greatest rock album of all time.
when i mentioned my former freind getting 100 bucks on ebay i meant for "piper at the gates of dawn" their first album released in 1967

ah.
well. i suggest you relax yourself in any way you see fit, disconnect your phone and doorbell, sit between some nice speakers, or put on some decent headphones and play that bitch on the best turntable you can.
if you've never listened to it before .. (well. i can't believe that person could exist, espescially if they have the word "trance" in their sig) but it will change how you look at how an album can be made. they did this all MANUALLY!!!!! no board automation, no midi no samplers. all pure tape recording. i think onto 2 inch 24 track, but i'm not sure, could've been 16. just a wonderful piece of work. i think you'll dig it.

Ive been seeing The Roger Waters tour Twice, and The Australian Pink Floyd Show too.
And yeah jay i think The Wall is the 2nd best selling album of all time.
You any Deep Purple in there?
If not im hoping you saw them play California Jam that was insane.
My dad has a sweet collection of vinal dude.
Nevertheless i have EVERY Pink Floyd album out there. On CD of course, i dont think they can be beaten, although the Chilli's live are electric.
SO many bands so little time!
Dont know there this post is going so..
Any more guitar based rock in there dude???

i'd say almost ALLL of it is. i have deep purple, shades of deep purple and machine head. i like guitar based rock, but my collection is alot of stuff that cannot be heard on the radio. i have all the early pink floyd (with the exception of piper at the gates of dawn, which was stolen) up to the wall. i'm more into their pre dark side of the moon stuff, but i am still a big fan of everything the've done.
i have alot of "alternative" music, but i hate the term. and lots of 80's independent label stuff. no red hot chili peppers though,i used to have the album that came out before mother's milk, but i never really liked them so i gave it away. alot of really obscure 60's psychedelic and garage stuff, but not as much as i'd like.. not that hippy dippy shiz either, more along the lines of pink floyd's first few albums. i have every album the jam released in the us , and many of the 45's. um. lets see.. lots of stones.. some beatles( don't let people fool you into thinking beatles records are valuable in general, a few might be, and they are defineately 'collectible' but for goodness sake they sold GAZZILLIONS OF THEM.. the market is flooded with them). i have a few funkadelic albums too.. if you want to hear some SERIOUS guitar rock i'd say they are among my favorites. some punk rock some 2tone era ska, including two autographed selecter records, ah. yeah.. lots of guitar rock here.. rory ghallager and taste, cream, jefferson airplane(please people check out the 2 albums AFTER surrealistic pillow, jorma kaukonen IS the most underrated guitar player in the world)some fairport convention.(gazag will rip me up for that one) and of course my prized velvet underground records, all imports except "loaded" british , and european in general, vinyl is much better than us vinyl. hmm. a half dozen tangerine dream records.. a few led zepplin records.. l.z. 2 was released twice and you can hear the difference in mixing on the 1972 version. etc... etc.. some newer stuff too.. alot of the stuff i like is distributed on vinyl because vinyl just sounds better. i'm not just saying that. a c.d. is a good representation of an analog waveform, but there is loss.. this is because the groove in an album is continuous, which means that what was recorded on it it what you get. on a cd it's acually more like steps than a solid sine wave.. ones and zeroes really fast.
oh.. yeah and i have "shades of deep purple" "deep purple" and "machine head"

i've been collecting records since 1983 or so.. seriously since about 87, and slowed down alot around the late 90's when ebay came along (those bastards).. i still buy records, but not as often as i used to.
