Quote: "At about 6:05 local time on Wednesday, a bridge over the Mississippi river in Minneapolis collapsed."

"The Interstate 35W bridge, which stretches between Minneapolis and St. Paul, was in the midst of being repaired when it broke into several huge sections."

I for one am glad. My great uncle was minutes away from being in that wreck. We just talked to him about 5 minutes ago.

CRAZY! Nothing like that would happen in CA with our cool earthquake standards.

I drove over that bridge. That thing swayed more than a scyscraper. I hated driving over it.

-Mee to guys. Thats just crazy that they had no idication of collapse or anything that could have led to a clapse with construction.

I think they are hiding something but my hearts with everyone killed or injured.

What are you talking about. Im telling the kid to take it off because of the people who died and are injured its rude to say its cool when there are so many injuries and a few fatalities, Im not a noob, if thats what your trying to point out.

Thats really sad for sure. Its weird because at my college I took an engineering class where all we did was study why buildings and roads ect have had failures in the past and how to stop that from happening in the future. It would be interesting to take that class again and really evaluate the bridge and figure out what happened

I definitely wouldn't use the word cool, but stuff like this is usually pretty interesting. I hope this doesn't sound too bad, but 7 people dead (I know the number will probably go up but not by too much) is a very small number for a bridge of this size collapsing into a river. There was even a school bus with 60 kids in it, all of whom made it out alive, though lots of them are injured. Obviously this is a horrible accident, but stuff like this happens, and the fact that so few people were actually killed is amazing IMO. I'll be interested to see what the cause ends up being here, knowing that the bridge has been having roadwork done on if for a while now.

Man, I just saw some more pictures. It is amazing that there are only 7 deaths thus far, as so many cars were on the road when the incident occured. It is horrible though, in some of the photos there are crushed cars with big slabs of concrete on top of them...WoW.

Why does no one get awesome footage of these events? There is some crappy CCTV video of it but you can't make much out. Anyway pretty intresting stuff, I love seeing a good old bit of destruction, but the tacoma narrows bridge looked way cooler when falling down. Suprised not that many people died for such a big collapse

The confirmed death count is now 4! It has been changing all day up here in MN. A friend of mines co workers brother was on the bridge when it hell. He had to have surgery last night. This is a very big tragedy. Bridges in the US just should not fall like this one did.

Here is the only video of the bridge falling that has been released. They do have cam that watch the bridge for traffic and stuff but I don't think those have been released yet if they had the cams pointed toward the bridge.

There is the link.

Yeah, I was wondering if you were near when it happened. How close were you exactly? Did you actually see the bridge collapse?

But in the rest of the world its fine. We are so much better than them anyways... Do they have the technology to build bridges yet?

Wow, as if the Phelps's needed more reasons to be obnoxious.

The bridge stood in place by the word of God and it fell by the word of God...Each of these little events is just a harbinger of the coming destruction of this American experiment. We are delivering the final call of the doomed nation.

God cast down the bridge... Thank God for 9/11... America is doomed... God hates fags... God hates fag enablers... God hates Minnesota.

This almost makes me want to go see these people in person if I have the time, knowing that they'll be here, they seem to be getting crazier every time I hear about them. I can't imagine how anyone could believe in such garbage to the point of "knowing" that god decided knock over a bridge in "fag enabling" Minnesota to warn America.
