I just wanted to let you guys know that this sunday I will be going to Dorney park for a vacation I will be leaving on Sunday then coming back on Tuesday. I was orignally supost to go last sunday but the trip was postponed because my grandfather was in the hospital because he fell outside and thought he broke his back (you wouldnt belive how long we were waiting in the emergency room) but he didn't break any thing but however they kept him in ICU because the did an MRI on him and somehow the mixed somones readings with his and they thought he had stroke. To make a long story short he's OK. Also I heard rumors that Steel Venom would be in Dorney by 2008 Is that true?[confused]

Project 2008 is underway at Dorney. Expect some early closers with Laser and Monster. As topdrag put it, yes Steel Venom will be at Dorney next year. (About time my park got an Int. Even if its used.) Have a good trip.

I plan on going in October for Hallo-weekends. Too bad that will be my only park visit this year.

Steel Venom is not the greatest ride, but it's actually a good addition for the mediocre parks like Valleyfair and DP...
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

Yea, I love the Laser. Though as I said before epect closuers for the fallowing rides due to construction.

1. Monster.
2. Laser.
3. The Zepher Train.

I believe the latter is closed already. Thank goodness if it is cuz that thing is loud as all hell.

Ok I was wrong. Laser is getting new trains for next year, Zepher will be closed in September and re-routed, and the Monster will not be affected.

Oh wow, I didn't know Dorney is getting a new coaster (I know the coaster is used). I'm excited. The Screamin' Swing is awesome at night (of course awesome during the day too!).
Oh, and if you go on Thunderhawk, watch out for the last turn before the station, it jerks you pretty hard.

Meh, ThunderHawk got dull after they trimed it. That killed the Gs on the stop before the station. Now its just a very rough ride.

Yeah Dorney is decent but I think mediocre can be an accurate description... there are no really amazing rides, a couple real good ones but like I said nothing overly special IMO. Park size is medium, their one woodie I think is pretty bad, their hyper is boring relative to other hypers, still an overall fun ride though, their invert is very smooth and fluent but not overly exciting, Hydra looks similar to Talon where it's fun but pacing kinda hurts it I think. They need some Intamin love IMO, lol.

I do like the park though, whenever I went lines were very short so I always had fun. I like that they have a pretty good drop tower too, and a few different styles of coasters, a decent variety. Terrain is nice, and the park is clean. The park overall just doesn't have the possible excitement like standout thrill parks such as GAdv, CP, or SFMM have.

Well,Im back! it was a ton of fun! ok I will tell you what happened

1st day: When we arrived at the park you wouldnt belive the crowd, both parking lots were filled to the brim and lots more were parking on the grass and we were one of them. First we went on the Talon and we almost ended up turning ourselves back around because the line was so long. Then we went on the Hydra and the line was actually short considering that the park was mobbed so we got on twice, only then did I find out that Steel Force had been closed all morning and when we arrived at the park it opened back up for a short time but when we reached the coaster it closed again so we went on the Laser witch was pretty cool exept for the bumpiness. Then the Steel Force opened back up and we got on it and you woulnt belive what happened when we were halfway up there. It broke down and we were actually STUCK on it for about 20 minutes! After the ride we went on the Thunderhawk witch was in good shape considering that its 85 years old

2nd day:The second day was the opposite of the first day the park was 1/6 of the crowd yesterday we went on all the roller coasters at least 22 times! it rocked![:)]

Yea. That place was PACKED this weekend. Everyone is heading there because of the big news regarding the next couple of years in that parks future. If a parking garage is built and the second proposed entrance is opened and they use some of their parking spaces for park additions that pack could become a nice place to be. I would watch Dorney as it is small now but it could become the main CF park in the state with more coasters then any other. The future is bright for Dorney and the park is looking to expand. With what could happen in the next months I see good things in the parks future if they can manage everything right.

Isn't Dorney the only CF park in the state? Or am I mistaken.

Yes. And its also the only one in the in the region. I think CF is tring to turn it into a big family anchor park which, if they are, then they are doing great.

Is it just me or is Kennywood a CF park?
