Why the hell would I drink that bottled crap if I have a faucet? That's like buying bottles of vodka if you have a sink that dispenses it for a penny a gallon or something.

^Yea. ha, nice analogy.

Canadmos - But majority of your citizens live in the cities. Of course you have those who live out in the country and most likly get well water - but well water has its benefits as well. Ive spoken to quite a few dentists who claim that the hardness of well water translates to your teeth and strengthens your teeth. Plus it has more minerals but contains other impurities youll want to filter out.

A Brita or similar filter would most likly do the job just fine. I actually prefer well water at times to regular city tap water.

Dasani is Lake Michigan water, AKA what comes out of the faucet.

Bottled water DOES suck. There's no solution apart from distillation. That's the only way you're going to get pure water.

Evaporation?

By the way, we did a test in our school. We put bottled water, tap water and salt water on top of an overhead and let it dry out. The tap water and salt water were almost PITCH BLACK and you couldn't even see the bottled water.

Yeah that's cause the bottled water doesn't contain beneficial minerals. Moron.

Oh, and I bet you these 'dissolved solids' have been added because they're MINERALS that do GOOD for your body, pretty much the opposite of what you do.

Btw: Coasterkidmwm, you could still see the bottled water, but only slightly. We redid it with distilled water and there was next to no residue.

Yeah they do do good for your body. Fluoride helps your teeth, and it's way the hell more "natural" than quadruple filtering it or whatever.

And your entire science class collectively is a dumbass if you expected the distilled water to have any "residue" left over considering your ages.

Your body IS supposed to be exposed to small amounts of bacteria and "dissolved solids" as you put it. How else would your immune system get any better if it were not introduced to small amounts of these impurities you talk of?

The people who are for it say water should just be h2o and nothing else but I disagree. Its alot like those people who think we should live in a 100% germ free world and do everything they can to prevent germs. But when that one does get by, sucks to be them. Their immune system would even remotely be ready for it.

Distilled water has its place when you need (for special instances) water with literally nothing in it. But even though you can say we dont get much (compared to Recommended Daily Allowance) its still valuable to our bodies.

Chlorine is not the problem. If you want to ingest mercury or fluoride (it may be good for your teeth, but not your organs!) go ahead.

There are impurities in everything you drink, eat and breathe, so why are you guys making such a fuss about tap water?

Hell it's even been said that anything that gets stored in a plastic container, cooked above a certain temperature, cooked under a certain temperature, cooked in oil or even the exposure to electro magnetic fields might cause cancer among other things!!!

I'm not saying that you should always try the cheapest necessities for you?????????re body but certain things should be digested for your own health reasons. If you try to be the cleanest person alive, do so but you most definitely won't be the healthiest.

I can just imagine maybe in the future, a person that smokes 20 Texan Plains a day, trying to tell me that tap water is unhealthy and that I should drink bottled water. [lol]

But tap water has AIDS in it and the gay agenda is poisoning it with their liberal chemicals.

Sorry guys, the only thing I drink that is bottled is Pepsi. If I want water, I head over to the water cooler in the gym or in my office. Period. No way am I paying $1 plus for something that I can get with my trusty plastic cup that I keep in my office and a short walk to the fountain. Real, you are right on about the wasted dollars and of course landfill issues ...

Well, read the article. Unless your local water is very sub par you wont even have to worry about mercury or fluoride. It is the chlorine by-products from the process used to keep the tap water clean while in the tanks.

Hey CWK - Ill go in with ya on that bottled air thing. Lets say its from the tops of certain mountains and that breathing it in before say, a sporting event will double your lung supply. Or increase red blood cells without drugs.

A classmate of mine and her mother think she has astma, and unless their doctor told them otherwise, they kept on believing the girl had astma. Last year she went for several months to somewhere in switserland, because "high up in the mountains the air would be purer". Now she got kicked out of school for missing to much classes...

Fluoride is intentionally added to many local water supplies.

Dasani, Aquafina, and possibly other brands of bottled water use reverse osmosis filtering which greatly reduces the amount of fluoride in the water.

This alone is enough of a reason why those brands of bottled water are much healthier than tap water. Forget about pollution, pollution isn't going to stop. I would rather NOT ingest chemicals and have pollution from bottled water exist, than reduce pollution slightly and drink tap water.

Or you could just recycle AND avoid the chemicals...

Ill say it one final time...Dasani, Aquafina, they were all tested against tap water from cities around the country and they showed nearly IDENTICAL results. So obviously the levels of said chemicals are so minute they dont matter.

Really? I would like to see these test results. Don't tell me to read the article either, because that article is a waste of anyone's time to read. They mentioned that they tested only ONE source of tap water to 5 different brands of bottled water. Tell me that isn't biased!

And it doesn't make sense that the test results would be the same. Reverse Osmosis filtering is the ONLY filtering method for water that gets rid of just about all, if not all impurities. Tap water is not filtered using this method, and as a result many impurities can be found in tap water that you will not find in Dasani and Aquafina. Not to mention, even if tap water was filtered using reverse osmosis, plenty of impurities could get in the water by the time it reaches your house.

Also, the following may very well be the least intelligent statement made on WWS.com thus far. Congratulations, Coasterkidmwm!

Yeah they do do good for your body. Fluoride helps your teeth, and it's way the hell more "natural" than quadruple filtering it or whatever.

Fluoride is a chemical, filtering is a process which removes chemicals. Now, tell me which one is more "natural"?

Intaminfan. You don't listen to anything going on around you and just blindly shove your opinions out there and get angry when people disagree with you (well when people are right, since you're opinions are generally wrong). Grow up and look at both sides of an argument for once.

Also saying you would like to see test results but don't want to read them is completely dumb.

YES I WOULD LIKE TO RESEARCH THE OCEAN BUT I FLAT OUT REFUSE TO READ ANYTHING ABOUT THE OCEAN BECAUSE I AM TOTALLY SMART AND DAMN MY OPINIONS ARE RIGHT!

I think you're the only one here that's getting angry. If you're going to post in this topic, at least continue with the debate at hand, because this post appears as if you are unable to do so.

You are the kind of person who would smoke weed out of a pen. I drink tap water, but not being aware of chemicals and how much they have f*cked this world up is ignorant.

Sheesh, I was just kidding. No need for F bombs.

If I was going to hide weed I would have a water bottle (so appropiate) with a secret compartment just like Michael Vick does. However I love dogs and would never fight them.

Lol. Why would you hide weed in a water bottle? You can see right through them. [lol]

And I would fight a dog. lolz. Especially a pitbull.
