Here's a thread to talk about movies you have recently seen. You can rate them and discuss.

In the past couple weeks I've seen a few movies, including:

Pan's Labyrinth 5/5 - A truely amazing movie. The lead actress was fantastic and the storyline was emotional and violent but the movie still kept a fantasy feel. My only gripe would be that the special effects were a little under par, but that is VERY minor.

The Host 3/5 - A decent movie, but not as great as everyone is making ot out to be. The lead was dissapointing, but the special effects were great. Also, the beast was not oozing green slime from its mouth 24/7 but and was very graceful. A standard storyline with a few minor twists. Good, but not great.

Transformers 5/5 - Woot! This movie kicks soooooo much ass, its hard to describe. The special effects were mindblowing...and so much action. It didn't seem like 2+ hrs, it was just that awesome.

Ratatouille 4/5 - Another great Pixar flick, good storyline and moral, with a fair bit of humor. If you don't like thousands of rats running around everywhere, avoid this movie :)

The Bourne Supremecy 4.5/5 - I didn't see The Bourne Identity, but I knoew the jist of the movie. Another great action flick, with its share of twists. I can't wait to see The Bourne Ultimatum... tonight!

I am currently in the process of watching The Lookouit and Hot Fuzz so I'll fill you in with those reviews soon :).

Ahhh, thanks, I forgot about...

Disturbia 3.5/5 - A pretty good movie. Not as thrilling as I had hoped but good (and still creepy) none the less. Shia LaBoeuf gives a great performance and the movie included its share of humour. Not good enough to see multiple time, but still worth seeing.

The last movie I saw was the latest Pirates movie. Not a bad movie, even though it was too damn long.

Borat craps out halfway through, so I pick Grandma's Boy ftw.

I am depressed that the trilogy is over, I remember being younger and getting kinda scared watching the preview for the first movie like 2 years before it came out. POTC was suspected to be a dud when coming out with the first movie. Wow were people wrong. Ha!, you movie critics, you were wrong. [stoning]

I saw Hot Rod. Hilarious. If you liked Anchorman or any comedy like that you'll love Hot Rod.

I also recently bought 300, Shooter, and Hot Fuzz on DVD. 300 is no where near as impressive as it was in theaters but still a good movie, just not as good as it originally was. Shooter still holds up and so do Hot Fuzz. Both of those are some of my favorites from this year.

Not exactly a movie, but I just finished up watching the BBC mini series "Jekyll" today which was really good, 6 hour-long episodes and not a dull moment through the whole thing. Haven't seen any new movies in a while, but Pan's Labyrinth was great, and that last Pirates movie was OK, they crammed way too much into one movie though. I've been looking forward to Hot Rod for a long time now but I haven't had time to go see it yet.

The Bourne Ultimatum 6/5 - A really awesome movie. Great action sequences, character developement and a solid conclusion that expalians everything. (as far as I'm concerned). A must see this summer!

I'm planning on starting to read the books this weekend. I'm a fast reader so I'll let you know soon enough (or someone else will).

those books aint't small, even is you are a fast reader. Book one is the same as the movie (or the other way around actually). But the 2nd movie is 'something completly different' than the 2nd book. The argument the director gave was that Ludlum (writer)'s stories where outdates. SOB
