Unless you live in the Love Canal or something, your tap water won't have nearly enough dangerous chemicals to cause any significant bodily harm. The amount of fluoride in the water is not enough to cause negative effects, unless someone chugs water all day out of a faucet.

A water bottle could have a secret compartment where the wrapper is, sheesh! Well who knows, I guess Michael Vick just was too addicted to weed in the first place if he needed it in a bottle...and maybe his dogs were too, there has to be something that makes them do this- http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... a52il7.jpg

Well IF397 its clear to see that you have done all this testing in your basement. I sincerely apologize for questioning your expertise in this, as well as all areas.

Quoted from video sequence:
"We tested a few popular brands of bottled water, and tap water from our own Studio 1A sink, and from 30 Rock, and Burbank, California."

Another quote:
"and while we did find chlorine by-products in the tap water and in some bottled water, they are not at high levels at all"
"Purified water can also be municipal water thats been cleaned, through a carbon filter or through distilling. Tests still showed that these still had chlorine by-products in them"
"People who drink only bottled water should consider fluoridated water"

But what do these people know? They are just experts in their fields. They cant know everything like a 17 year old.

Jeesh real, you're so ageist lol.

Anyway, watch the infomercials! Everything you need to know packed right into that hour long ad for something that probably [doesn't] work(s).

AquaVie healthy water system lol, check it out, it evaporates your water and then runs your water through like a disk of chemicals to 'replenish minerals'

Do you think I need one?

Ageist? lol. Well, if he were like 23, studying in chemical engineering or hydro-something I would tend to believe hes got access to running tests like that. Otherwise, I dont think it was made up. Infact, it was quite risky to make public information like that IMO because the bottled water industry is SO huge now.

I don't disagree with this at all. I just would rather not ingest fluoridated water as fluoride has shown to be harmful, even if it is only in much larger amounts. I see the potential risks of it as greater than the potential upside. If you or anyone else doesn't see a problem with fluoride in tap water, I not only can see why you think that but half-agree about it also. Personally, however, I do not want to drink fluoridated water.

The fact that there are so many chemicals considered safe by the FDA, then later proven to be harmful just shows how out of all the chemicals out there, there have to be quite a bit of them that are harmful and we don't even know about it yet because not enough testing has been done.

Please. This is a debate on an internet forum, not a place to sarcastically make yourself look superior than others. I merely contributed my view on the issue as well as you and Coasterkidmwm did. Apparently, since I disagreed with you and Coasterkidmwm, that means that I think I know everything. Don't disagree with Real or Coasterkidmwm, or else you're a know-it-all!

1st quote: I read the article, not the video. Regardless, it would take tests from many areas of the US to determine the quality of tap water nationwide. 3 sources of tap water doesn't cut it.
2nd: Of course they aren't, never said they were.
3rd: This one seems rather biased. They say that water that has been filtered through common filtering methods still have chlorine by-products in them. Never did they mention reverse osmosis. I previously mentioned "Reverse Osmosis filtering is the ONLY filtering method for water that gets rid of just about all, if not all impurities."
4th: They are flat out saying that bottled water doesn't have fluoride, or at the very least has a significant less amount than tap water. How is this helping your point at all?

Nice flame. What a low comment. I suspect the only reason you might have added that in there, is because you felt your argument wasn't good enough without adding something irrelevant to make you look better? I don't know why I even bothered to quote such filth.

You contributed your view, then preceded to back it up against our claims.

Tell me how thats "mearly contributing" and not "arguing"?

It seems rather that youve tried to "trap" us here with your less than crafty words and in doing so, have to answer as to why you defended your spot but try to play it off as "mearly contributing".

About time you got around to quoting some websites or something as well.

Your move.

It's a debate, not an argument. My contributions to the thread are what started it, as there would not be a debate without conflicting views. Challenging the claims another makes does not in any way mean I "argued".

Infomericals sell things that suck too much to make it into the grocery store market. Ever wonder WHY that stuff sucks?

Words cannot express what I think of you right now.

Yes fluoride is bad if you have too much. Do you know how much is in water compared to how much is bad for you? Not at all.

Other things that are bad and can kill you if you consume too much of them:
*Fat soluble vitamins
*Salt (essential for life)
*Water (very essential for life)
*Sugar (essential for life)
*Fats (essential for life)

Also, I am waiting for an explanation IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Explaining something in your own words shows that you have a general grasp of the words put in front of you and that you have a slight bit of understanding as to what the information is and how it is used. Linking to a website about asthma is not explaining a damn and is about as useful as a misfiring anus to me right now.

EDIT: Sorry now I understand why you posted those links. They back up your claim about unknown chemicals. Nice job completely avoiding my request of an explanation while still making it look like you answered it.

I think bottled water tastes better than tap water. Here in L.A. hold up a clear glass f tap water to the light and hold a clear glass of say aquafina or dasani or arrowhead for that matter, and you can see the difference. But like that study mention, I am only talking about my location, they did tests in only a few sections of the country. Even the water from our carbon filter tastes better than the tap water faucet sitting next to the filtered water dispenser.

Well here it is- Bottled water is purified, so it is plainly water, H20, and nothing else. But tap water, has many more vitamins and the H20 in it, so it does have a little taste. Id rather go with tap water, but you make your choice.

Coasterkidmwm:

It's amazing how you can take a debate about one issue, and dissect it to the point where it is no longer a debate, but a contest on whoever seems the most intelligent. That post has just proven to me that you are completely unable to follow this debate.

First of all, thank you so much for not reading my last post. I will post it here so you don't have an excuse to ignore it:
I just would rather not ingest fluoridated water as fluoride has shown to be harmful, even if it is only in much larger amounts. I see the potential risks of it as greater than the potential upside. If you or anyone else doesn't see a problem with fluoride in tap water, I not only can see why you think that but half-agree about it also. On to the next part of your post. The comparisons you make to fluoride are ridiculous! You're comparing naturally occurring compounds that are essential for life, to a toxic industrial product (sodium fluoride) that has a small benefit if used in extremely small amounts. Are you being serious? These comparisons are laughable.

So now I have to do what you ask of me, exactly how you want it done? I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION. Stop being an idealist and click the goddamn link! I have no reason to show some person over the internet that I have a grasp of what I'm talking about. This debate isn't about my knowledge, so stop dwelling on my knowledge of the subject, and actually address my arguments on the matter.

Bottled water is not pure H20. That is distilled water, which you cannot drink. Distilled water goes right into your red blood cells and makes them explode.

They use Hexafluorosilicic acid in tap water, not sodium fluoride. So getting the chemical right to begin with might help you and make you look a bit smarter. Sodium fluoride useage in water was discontinued many years ago. Now it's mostly used in toothpaste in much higher amounts than in water.

I did click it, that's why I asked for an explanation. Real was asking for something similar to what I was asking for and yet he wasn't slammed. Interesting no? (see I can change subjects too!)

Your arguments are bad because you have no knowledge of the subject. Is that so hard to understand?

JY, after another review, you are right, and some of the plastic (over time) fuses with the water, making it undrinkable.
