Yes, I agree with you that God can not be proven or disproven, no evidence for somethings non-existence gives no reason to believe it, one can not disprove a negative, a negative remains a negative until it is proven. There is no proof that Santa Claus does not exist, or the Flying Sphagetti Monster. My stance on respecting beliefs is if I can keep a straight face while listening to them, I will respect them.

Granted this has nothing to do with evolution...

I am pretty sure that we can use satellite images to determine if theres a huge workshop on the North Pole. Unless theres another "North" Pole I dont know about, that ones pretty easy to clear up

actually that's true.. there isn't proof that santa clause doesn't exist, we don't need any. we humans are smart enough to know better.. HOWEVER if parents did not go ahead and tell their kids the truth eventually there'd be a "church of santa' complete with tract hander outers at every mall.

My parents will be pissed, but Im not raising my future kids to believe in Santa OR Easter Bunny or any of that jibberish. Its a wonder kids dont recognize what the real meanings of those holidays are...and then ultimatly dont care. Ive seen my youth pastors wife do this and their kids could care less. Infact, they kind of started telling other kids there was no santa or easter bunny...at age 4...haha.

Real, red, brilliant posts. Being a Christian who believes in evolution myself, Im always disgusted by people who act as you 2 described, flaunting their "religious" opinions which they themselves have not actually thought about. I always find it funny how some Christians are so quick to condemn and accuse those who disagree with them, but then feel so insulted when someone questions christianity. Personally, I find that the only real way to build a solid understanding of your religion is actually through this questioning and doubt, since it provokes reflection on your spritual base and what you yourself believe.

And f**k if I know how that contributes to the topic of evolution...i just thought id throw that out there.
