about 1000's deaths today

About a 1000 people have died with-in the last 24hours from:
Car Bombs - Iraq - 500+
Earthquakes - Peru - 450 +
Mud Slide - India - 61 (Entire village)
and other smaller disasters

[Not accounting ppl dying from other causes like aids]

I think its terrible... makes me wanna cry

Well, from just natural disasters, I heard somewhere that a person dies every 4-6 seconds, so that is more than a 1000 every 2 hours.

dude, do you know how many people are living on this planet???!!!! Think of all the people who die in Africa alone, on a daily basis.....
I'm sure more than 1000 people die every day of old age, so imagine factoring in things like starvation, disease, natural disasters and even murder.....

I know, I was just making a point about old age.

Plus all the kids that die from malnutrition. Parents that die from aids. I wonder what Africa's rate of death is compared to other parts of the world. Its simply crazy.

i mean ignoring all these things, things on the news and whatnot, we don't get a BREAKING NEWS report every time someone dies of aids...

And i think its sad.. that if 3 AMERICAN suicide bombers blew up 500 people in AMERICA! it would have been all over the news for weeks... but some poxy little ethnic cleansing act in Iraq it gets a brief mention

By my calculations, since creating this topic, 66,000 people have died in the world. People die all the time, people are born all the time. Its a small blip that several hundred or thousands die in natural disasters.

1000 deaths in one day is nothing. If possibly there was a million, or several million to die in one day, that would be big world news. Besides that, its nothing on an earthling scale, let alone a galactic or universal scale.

Also if we did televise every death then the Anti-war people will get pissed. Which brings me to another subject. I absolutely DESPISE anti-war people. Did they ever think if we pull out of the war then Iraq would think we are cowards and attack us more?! Really, some people never think.
