anyone hear anything about what's in the works for Hershey park in 2008.

also how are the CGI Millenium Flyer trains holding up on Wildcat? I personally wouldn't ride wildcat unless i was in the back row because it was so rough anywhere else on the train, but i haven't gotten to Hershey this year, so I'm hoping it's better?

as for the 08 coaster, i could see an Intamin (like screamscape is referring to), Hershey has had great success with storm runner and would probably not be afraid to build something from them again.

I know what hersheypark is building next year but I can'nt tell anyone what it is. The official abanet will happen next week or the week after that becuse there is only 2 weeks left in hershey parks summer session. I can tell you that Intam is not building this new attion next year and it is a roller coaster that's all I can tell for right now until after the official acmet is made But everyone will be stopped what type of coaster it is for next year I am sorry that I can't tell anymore info on this new coaster becuse I don'nt know much about the new coaster next year but my dad does and my dad wont tell what type of coaster it is for next year.

It'd be cool for them to buld a compact hyper.Or something that would be intance but would fit in a small space.

i dont know how they'd fit that all into that little section, unless they make it go all over the park. where these markers are is very crowded and whatnot.

4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

hershey parks site now has a teaser, and when you get on the site it says...

"What's better then a perfect 10"

"Hershey Park 2008"

That was just so bland. You think they'd add some color to it...lol...

Edit: I heard its gonna be an Itnamin looper.

^ That was 9 days ago.

^^ Why would that happen? They already have an Intamin looper (Storm Runner)

storm runner and a intamin looper are two different beasts tho, two different cars, track (for the most part), exc. i'd rather see Hershey go vertical and build a hyper, maybe along the one road, but i'd doubt to ever see that, until they expand or something.

edit..

looking at more of the areal photos there is substantial room in that area if they do remove the canyon river rapids...even better idea would be to get rid of sidewinder, and use all of that area for something.

I don't see how removing sidewinder would help much, because it doesn't have a very large footprint.
Now, the teaser says "what's better than a perfect 10."
The park already has what they consider 10 roller coasters (technically 11 if they would count LR as 2 coasters) so as I see it, they are either going to remove one coaster and build a new on and keep their count at 10 or they are going to go with an Intamin looper much like Colossus that has a perfect 10 inversions.

^ or maybe one with 11 inversions, because of being 'better than a perfect 10'.

Yeah, maybe youre right though with the amount of coasters thing.

sidewinder not there would be a great station place tho, and just that much more room. plus who likes it anyway, haha. there probably going for their 11th coaster with 11 inversions, that'd be cool..that's what i get out of the perfect 10 thing, but im not getting my hopes up.

wait. they could probably just build over canyon river rapids, im sure that's possible with the right design.

complete double post.

but this is another subject. im from pa but i know that now they dont hold the basketball state tournaments in hershey anymore, and maybe eventually they'll move the soccer and football tournaments to penn state. if they do then that football field there becomes practically useless. if its' useless, that might eventually get torn down and turned into expansion room for the park. they use to hold numerous concerts and such there but now with the huge giant center, there all put in there, the stadium is practically useless except for state football and soccer tornements, and mabye field hockey. but i know people from western pa want it moved to Penn State, a more neutral location. makes sense to me if hershey is just like, whatever move it. we'll tear that down and turn it into expansion room.

it's possible tho, the park really doesn't have anywhere else to expand itself other then out that way, and the stadium is rarely ever used as is.

i think it'd be a great spot for some other type of a beemer, but i wouldn't expect this change right now. i think the PIAA (pa high school athletics) has some sort of a contract with hershey, but hershey isn't neutral....anyway i think it'd be a great spot for some type of a twister/floorless/flying beemer.

i think something could stretch even down toward storm runner's layout in that valley there with trailblazer.
