I just had to pass this one on...........................

Recently, demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Parliament is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.

Certain people are angry that the UK might actually want to protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, make it harder as an illegal immigrant to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.

Let us say I break into your house. Then, when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave, but I say, I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and done the laundry and swept the floors. In fact, I have done all the things you do not like to do. I am hard working and honest. Well, except for when I broke into your house.

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must also add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my children, pay for all my family's medical and other healthcare needs, and provide many other benefits to me and to my family. My husband will do your gardening and general odd jobs because he, too, is hard-working and honest. Well, except for when we broke into your house.

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends, who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my illegal right to be there. It is only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I am just trying to better myself.

I am hard working and honest . . . . . Well, except for the . . . . . um, you know. . . . . The breaking in part.

And what a great deal it is for me! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness and prejudice against house breakers.

I want you to learn my language, so you can communicate with me, because English is too hard for me to learn. Also, you must change the rules in your schools so that my children can wear the clothes I want them to wear, rather than the uniform your children have to wear. Your schools must also provide special foods to my children and your children must eat these foods, too, because I do not want my children eating many of the foods you and your children eat. Otherwise, you must build schools that are especially for my children, and others like them, where they can wear the clothes of my choice, speak the language of my choice, eat the food of my choice and are taught the subjects of my choice. If you are of a different religion to me, you and your children must also learn all about my family's religion, although the schools you build for my children will not teach them about the religion of you and your family. As I am living in your house, you and your family must stop celebrating your own religious festivals but allow me always to celebrate mine.

If I break the rules of your house, I should not be subject to the same punishments as your own family because my rules may be different from yours.

You should also allow me to vote in my own language because I live in your house.

Only in the UK could all this happen.

Why cannot people see how ridiculous this is?

If you agree, pass it on in English!

You cant realistically say that. Because who pays for this stuff? I do. My family does. US workers do. US has the most debt in all of the world - trust me, thats a BS statement and a selfish one at that. Im struggling right now just to get by - it would be awesome to have what money I have to fork over to the Gov. in my pocket. I bet it would cover my gas money each week.

Here's something I received in my email yesterday:

>An incident occurred in a supermarket recently, when the following was
>witnessed:
>
>
>
>A Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha (A black gown & face mask) was standing
>with her shopping in a queue at the checkout.
>
>
>
>When it was her turn to be served, and as she reached the cashier, she made
>a loud remark about the English Flag lapel pin, which the female cashier
>was
>wearing on her blouse.
>
>
>
>The cashier reached up and touched the pin and said, "Yes, I always wear it
>proudly. My son serves abroad with the forces and I wear it for him".
>
>The Muslim woman then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing
>and killing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.
>
>At that point, a Gentleman standing in the queue stepped forward, and
>interrupted with a calm and gentle voice, and said to the Iraqi woman:
>
>Excuse me, but hundreds of thousands of men and women, just like this
>ladies
>son have fought and sacrificed their lives so that people just like YOU can
>stand here, in England, which is MY country and allow you to blatantly
>accuse an innocent check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen".
>
>It is my belief that if you were allowed to be as outspoken as that in
>Iraq,
>which you claim to be YOUR country, then we wouldn't need to be fighting
>there today".
>
>"However - now that you have learned how to speak out and criticize the
>English people who have afforded you the protection of MY country, I will
>gladly pay the cost of a ticket to help you pay your way back to Iraq"..
>
>"When you get there, and if you manage to survive for being as outspoken as
>what you are here in England, then you should be able to help straighten
>out
>the mess which YOUR Iraqi countrymen have got you into in the first place,
>which appears to be the reason that you have come to MY country to avoid."
>
>
>
>Apparently the queue cheered and applauded.
>
>IF YOU AGREE... Pass this on to all of your proud English and American
>friends..

Nice fake story, I doubt that happened. Just good propoganda.

Ive worked at a superstore for a year now and Ive never had any trouble with Mulsim/Middle Eastern people saying rude things. Now, they try to scam us every single day and act like we SHOULD allow them to bring back items we dont even CARRY but thats another story.

The analogy with breaking into a house is dismal...a house is your private property....a country is merely a border and an area of different governmental jurisdiction, and if the country doesnt frbid immigration, its hardly fair to compare someone moving into the country to someone breaking into a house.

some illigal people are pains in the ass, others are fine....just like natives can be fine, or pains in the ass. I just wish my gouverment would get a strict policy....keep everyone out or let everybody in. Not keeping them for nine years and them kicking them out. I'm with the first one....let them go to belgium or something....The Netherlands has got the greatest people/sq miles rate of the world

All that (fake) story does for me is make me feel sorry for the Iraqi woman, who has most likely gone through more to be able to live in a free country than anyone else in that story, only to be ridiculed for it. Not very good propaganda if it's supposed to make you feel all patriotic for the UK. Also, refugees coming to the US from the Middle East, Africa, and Asia are generally legal immigrants (I'm not sure about Europe), so that's even more reason not to treat them like this.

I'm up with them escaping death and trying to seek freedom- i mean, be honest- would you want to live in Iraq?

But if they do come into my 'house/country' at least show a bit of appreciation and try not to push your luck- i mean, some people really do my head in.

It would just be nice to have a truly English country. Americans are so patriotic, i sometimes envy it.

It's imposible to get employed in England, you've got the Polish who will work for nothing and Iraqi's who will cry 'equal rights' if they dont get the job.

What a horribly closed-minded message. I don't even know how to respond to that other than to say that if you actually agree with that whole thing, you really need to look at it from the perspective of a refugee fleeing to a new country. What's wrong with other cultures mixing in with the English (or American for that matter, the same things happen here too) are you afraid of people that are different than you? Sounds like a bunch of six-year-olds who don't want to play with the new kid.

your getting the point wrong here.
its mostly about the ilegual imagrents not the legul ones

the point is that these people are coming into our country so why the hell wont they adapt to our ways?
why the hell do they bash our culture?
why do they blame us for thing that drove them out of there country?
and the irratating knolage that they just scavange from us hard workers

This is a problem in pretty much every developed country in the world, it's just that until very recently, England has been extremely passive about the whole thing.

Personally, I have not been passive about the whole thing, this is something that really really gets to me. The thing that gets me most about the whole situation, is that we are the ones that have to change to accomadate them in our country. That is what I hate above all else, even above having to pay for them to stay here. The fact that they have come to this country surely means they feel it is a better life than in their own country... so WHY oh WHY, are we forced more and more to turn our country into theirs.

I will have to stop now, or this computer will go through the wall... and I'm at Edge's house atm and I doubt he'd be pleased [lol]

I dont think the point is that its wrong that other cultures should mix in with our English culture. Most people get along fine here in Britain, London is an extremely multi cultural, and pretty tolerant place. The point isnt that we dont welcome other cultures, its just the fact that people moving into our country dont welcome ours....

The majority are okay, its just when people move into our own country and expect to be able to do exactly what they did in their own. It doesnt work that way. There are certain ways to act in different places around the world and everyone, not just muslims, not just brits, everyone, should respect that.

Like if you visit certain places in India for example, you would not show the bare soles of your feet, as it is offensive in many areas. Now because you are the visitor, surely it is up to you to try and not offend your accomodating landlord? You would try and obe by this rule, yes? Its not like the landlord is asking you to stop praying, to stop having faith in your own religion, so surely you can do this?

Now why is asking people not to show the soles of their feet, so different from asking Muslim women (for example) to not cover their faces in certain places in Britain? It isnt. It is NOT a rule of Islam, it is only preference, for them to wear a Niqab, or Buhka. And if the wearing of one of these in a certain place of high security is frowned upon in Britain, surely they should respect our culture by removing it for a short period, as we have respected theirs by letting them wear it in other, less high security places in our country?

Or am i totally wrong? I have nothing against cultures intergrating. I am absolutely fascinated with other cultures, and accepting, but there has to be a certain amount of respect when an "outsider" moves into a country very different from their own, otherwise we are bound to reach a point of hostility.
