warwick bases are amazing, i'd prefer one of those over any fender any day, price check tho, especially since i dont play bass. i cant stand fenders. no offense to the company just the round necks on guitars kill me.

they do sound nice, very clear and pure. they sound like a bass. they can be fine tuned and come in shapes that'll make your parents roll their eyes. but , while they do have their own character i believe fenders have more of the sound i'd like.. i've only played a warwick once or twice, and i was impressed with how clear it sounded, but i really honestly love my jazz bass.to me it just has a different color to the sound that suits me. and i'm particullarly fond of the neck.. not as nice as dudes '67 (drools)

haha it's a beauty. the only up/downfall is that it has custom pickups and custom tuning pegs, which probably hurt the value of it, but im hoping help out the sound. im also more of a fan of heavier rock, so of course fender isn't always up my alley.

ive played drums for 5 years now and have played with some friends that play guitar and whatnot. band in school really helps you become a better musician. people who say they play drums or something but say that band is dumb are stupid. they dont realize how much more there is to playing the instrument/s. i really enjoy marching band too. anything rudimential that you can play in marching band can be transferred to drumset to make different beats. flam accents for example are very easy on snare or just on one drum but then you take it to drumset and play one hand on a ride and the other on the snare and it makes it seem like the two hands are playing two different rythms.

I play the piano and the guitar, i used to play the cello though, but that really interfered with my time, and i found it to be to hard to play.

^the only formal training i had was when i was young.. i learned clarinet when i was like 9, but switched to trumpet at 12 (niether of which i enjoyed)
and i played with the orange county youth orchestra.. when i was 18 i didn't play trumpet anymore, and it wasn't till i was 23 that i decided to make music of my own. the school band thing REALLY helped me in my music, wether i liked it or not. when i started making my own music my goal wasn't to be able to play "such and such" just like "so and so" or really any variation of such.. my goal was to learn how to record my own multi tracked pieces, based on what i can figure out on the instruments and what "I" want to hear.. i do that now, and have for the last 12 years, so i'm stoked..
and i think it does have something to do with being in the bands and orchestra. the concept of making a piece of music on tape is like that.. sometimes theres tons of tracks, all with different sounds, and it's all going off at once.

For over 20 years now ... wow, I cannot believe it has been that long. I have 2 different setups, one that I used to use for recording and another for live, but now I use whatever mood I am in.

dont get me wrong jayman, fenders sound ok for bass, i know kids who play them, but i've played bass for 8 years and i'm no noob,,,i know exactly what i'm talking about cuz i've played them all, fenders may have a distinctive sound, but they are really uncomfortable and useless when you explore relms outside of there jazzy sound. warwicks are a much better bass when playing multiple styles of music. Anything from classical, to jazz, to rock, or anything else.
