Unofficial Nolimits 1.6 Contest

They want the ride to be a top 10 ride, with something that makes it stand out, but it shouldn't be too intense. You may use any of the 1.6 updated styles in NoLimits Version 1.6. This includes both of the classic Schwarzkopf design, Twisted Steel coaster, Inverted Coaster (4-seat), Floorless Twisted Steel Coaster, Stand-up Twisted Steel coaster, Hyper coaster (4-seat Only). Victory in this contest will result in TBA. Good Luck!

SCORING (scoring will be precise to prevent ties):

  • Technical: out of 200 points
  • Adrenaline: out of 150 points
  • Originality: out of 150 points
  • Terraforming/Extras: (bonus points only) out of 50 points extra

Average: out of 500 points (plus possible 50 points)

THE RULES:

The template for this contest is quite easy. I want to see something unique and special from the contestants. This, however, does not mean to ignore all aspects of realism. IF your ride is too crazy in my opinion, I'll take some points off in the originality category. I would like to see something in the style of the track type you pick. Also, you see the template is flat. You may use the terraformer or some 3ds to make mountains. A combination of great terrain, enviroment, and theme may result in up to 50 bonus points for you (not saying it will happen though). These will be added into your originality score.

  • Ride must fit inside the red boundaries (excluding supports).

  • Station must fit inside bright red area.

  • Track must pass through all three of the purple squares at least once.

  • Track must be at least 15 feet above the blue area to make room for the road there.

  • Track cannot enter any red triangles. Supports and 3ds can.

  • Ride must be one of the coaster types listed above.

  • Ride must be atleast 100 ft tall, but no taller than 275ft tall(30.48m and 83.82m). This is according to the grid, not to terraforming.

  • Ride may have less than 8 (eight) inversions. An inversion is defined as any piece of track with more than 155????????? of banking. Inversions are banned from rides that do not have them. Again, this contest is for realism here.

  • Track must be a complete circut, no exceptions.

  • Ride must be longer than 2500ft, but no longer than 6500ft. (762m and 1981.2m)

  • Max Vertical G-force: 5 positive, -1.3 negative, Max Lateral G-force: +/- 1. No DQ's for this, but major point deductions in tech (at least 20 points). No exceptions.

  • Your track must be contained entirely inside of the red support boundry, tested in the editor, no exceptions. Your station is to be entirely inside of the green box, this will be tested in the editor.

  • Your lift may be no faster than 11mph or 16.09kph.

  • Tunnel intrusions are not allowed, points will be deducted. To be tested with the 1.6 tunnel of the respective track type.

  • Only one lift is allowed, no launches. A lift is defined as any section of track that is sloped upwards and propelled in some way. A launch is defined as any piece of track with transport devices that increase the speed of the train.

  • Track must pass E-Stop test. NO transports on MCBRs allowed! NO exceptions.

  • Deadline for the contest is November 15th, at 11:59:59 PM your time.

  • [*]You may send your tracks to me at ryandougherty367@yahoo.com . You may also post your track on the exhcange, with the title "NL1.6", so I know it's for the contest. Note that you will only be allowed to submit your track through the exchange once. You may submit through e-mail as many times as you like.

    Have Fun and Good Luck!

To be Announced. I was thinking either the end of October or middle of November.

I also need some judges too.

if there's no track type specified, how will you determine who best between a B&M multi-looper and a spinner?

^^ That's what I want to know. I cannot give points, because, you know why. I was thinking of a shirt or something, but I am not sure.

Well, not once in my life have I built a ride that would not fit inside the template, so I guess that I'll make my next ride for it...

    I'm in!

EELover, any contest of this type needs to be approved by staff, even if it's "unofficial" or what ever.

Canadmos already approved my contest that will begin when the Scream City contest ends.

You now know why nobody likes you...

omfg, huge template, about all track types allowed, only a few lame rules. This just looks like building a normal ride. Even with the deadline. No thanks. No challenge, nothing special.

Jake, the contest is mainly for people that have quit the SCCC or have not joined it yet, or finishers of the SCCC and are quick builders.

I'm in since you were smart enough to avoid including trees in the template.
