So here's the quick story. SROS' chain broke and had to be welded as a temporary fix. SFNE immeadiately ordered a new one from some company in the states as a long term fix It arrived, and it turned out to be faulty, in other words, it wouldn't work or pull the trains up the hill. So now SROS is still down after over a weak of inactivity, waiting for a lift chain to arrive from Intamin in Switzerland. It will then take at least 36 hours to install this mammoth piece.

Just a heads up for anyone planning to go. The new chain hadn't arrived when I revisited on 8/20, so it won't be open until at least 8/22-23, at the earliest.

And all I had to do was slip the parking booth person a few dollars [;)]

Yeah big news there, bud. I'd've paid 10 cents for that...

Couldn't have hurt to use that other topic either?

ahah yeah. I think the information from the Dippin Dots guy is more reliable than a parking booth attendant.

Obviously I was kidding.

Well actually she said she normally works at the park, IIRC I saw her at thunderbolt a week ago, so I'm sure she's a pretty reliable source. All of her information lines up right with what has been accepted as fact so far, so until something else out there's been proved or theorized, she's right in my eyes.

Will someone please pull the stick outta this guys ass

ROFL! You sick hilariously disgusting stereotypical jerkwad whom is awesome and made one of the most hilarious comments on the site!

Woah.

Anyway, the story sounds half-way believable, but... why would they get a chain from a different company than the one that made the ride?

Inta-ride is located in Glen Burnie MD, so I bet it came from there.

IntaRide LLC, Intamin's US branch, is in Glen Burnie MD if you didn't know. I'm not quite sure what you mean in your post.

That is true, but SROS was infact designed and constructed by Intamin in Switzerland, not Intaride. For the record, they are the same company, as Jakizle has said, but Intaride is based out of the states. AFAIK, neither is restrained to that landmass in which they are located on, and Intaride hasn't been around anywhere near as long as Intamin.

Yeah, but is it possible that they provided a chain lift? That's what I was wondering....where did SFNE try go get one from?

I don't know for sure, my guess would be Intaride, because I DO know that who ever it came from, they were based out of the US. I DO know that it arrived faulty, and so SFNE ordered one from Intamin. It still hasn't arrived.
