Another FVD- perfectly smooth, exactly the way I want it, just over 200 feet, gs are perfect, yadda yadda.

Gs in the tophat (in both the front and the back) just touch the yellow -1.5 g limit, so that's good.

Launch is 85 mph (38 m/s).

Don't think that FVD automatically makes your ride good.

The top hat is shaped completely wrong. Also, -1.5 is a TON of force...I wouldn't reccomend going over -1.3.

Well, FVDs are pretty much perfectly smooth and they get exactly what you want. So, they are much easier and better to build with.

Want me to lower it to like 83 or something?

Agreed with Jakizle. The Intamin coasters with top hats do have great air, but nowhere near that much.

Jimmy suggested on my last Intamin that the most is -1.5.

As of now, your coaster looks more like and S&S launch coaster than a rocket. Just something to think about.

I also agree that -1.5 is a tad too high. People love airtime, but at that quantity it would begin to get uncomfortable.

He wasn't suggesting you USED it! And if your trains are 6/7 cars [if you want good capacity] the rear car will be yanked over the top and it'll be like -4.

The top hat should have a longer gTim when moving upward so that the top will be thinner.

Anyway, yay for you.

Already posted

Edit: speed reduced to 84 mph, and reaches a max of -1.3, so that's good.

I am going to post a screen of a ejector hill (-1.0 max)

Uh you do realize that by slowing the launch you're screwing up your forces in FVD? Or did you change the entry speed and gTim? If you didn't then the rest of the ride's forces are going to be messed up.

No, the lats are still less than 0.1 on the turns, and the same on direction forces are the same. It fits it better anyway.

With 85 mph the forces were more powerful than set on the FVDs, and with 84 it were exactly right (even though I set it at 85 mph or 38.00m/s in Elementary).

Works great already.

Because of school, I am not going to work on this (probably) till next weekend. I will continue for the rest of the night, and it will be on hold till then.

It's also just over 200 feet, which I wanted too.

Edit: I also admit that the tophat is not truly an Intamin's, but I wanted it just over 200 feet and realistic neg gs.

There is no reason why you cant get a fairly realistic Intamin tophat with FVD's. You just have to fool around with the formula instead of using whatever comes out the first time. With a little patience I'm sure you could pull it off.

Well, it actually seems fine to me.

Do you guys want me to redo it with a new layout, or keep it the way it is?

Maybe you should just stick to what you want to do and not change your ride to do what everyone else wants to do.

Okay, but I do not really like the layout, and I want to do more inversions with the ride.

That would be the most you could possibly have. Air on the tophats isn't that strong.

Well, at the beginning in the front, and the end in the back. I tested it for it's lowest speed, and it is about 78.5 mph (that barely makes it)

You'll have to make sure it doesn't go too slow though. You don't want downrates from people staying it'll have a rollback in the wind.

Ummm...

- Storm Runner backseat
- Xcelerator

...and for non-tophat insanely high negative gs, Maverick.

Sorry, but are you guys just talking out of your asses when you say "no higher than -1.3g!"? Serious question, because if you don't have anything to back that up then I can comfortably say that there is no way Intamin doesn't go over (or under?) -1.3gs.

Not to mention, the g-limits or recommendations for PTCs are -1.2g or -1.3g, do you really think they would be the same for an Intamin?

I would estimate anything almost/around -2gs is safe, if done very briefly.

Intaminfan, SROS and El Toro both pull about -1.3 and that is a TON of force. I would honestly be scared to encounter that much force on a PTC.

Xcelerator's tophat didn't match SROS either.
