And that accident wasn't even Schwarzkopf's fault. That Canadian mall has the most irresponsible management I have ever seen. They didn't even bother to translate the ride operating manual from German to English, and they completely neglected to even attempt to inspect the ride. Also refused to pay less than 100 dollars for an inspection. Also wouldn't allow Mr. Schwarzkopf to walk into his own factory from bankruptcy issues or something of the like.

Overall it's pathetic ride management and business practices combining.

these are still extramly safe rides but remeber they are only machines. if there not inspected every day and well maintained things will go wrong. that said it happens and its unstopable, no machine is ever 100% safe or reliable.

yes thats a bad accident but if its true what your saying then why havent galaxy land already been closed down

OMG!
On that site there's all things like:
lost foot, died, major injuries etc etc etc...
But there's also this, and it's quoted (just marked 2 things):

August- Octupus, Six Flags America, USA
A 4-year-old girl fell four foot from the ride when she stood up, sustaining minor injuries.

I mean: what do we care! We wan't to see blood [stoning][:D] (just kidding [approve])

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

So are you going to do anything about it?

Not everyone died, 3 people did, and one was seriously injured. It was a terrible accident and fault of Galaxyland's owners, but they've learned from their mistakes, otherwise it wouldn't be open today, as it is. I ride it every time I go there, and it's very safe, it goes down every 4 hours for inspection. It's a freak accident, and it's fault of the Mall's owners, but it was a lesson well learned.

And Ckmwm, it's fault of 555, they're some Indonesian company or something.

Galaxyland is my home park btw. And that accident happened in 1985/6 and it's been running since then with no problems.

Every 15 runs? Or every 15 days? Seriously, doing a train transfer every 15 runs would be the most ridiculous and stupidest thing ever. EVER.

That's hardly what I would call the most accurate resource.

Funny. On that site he says he has the "roller coaster world record" amount of rides. HA.

I actually know a kid whos ridden Raptor 1000 times in his lifetime. Not to mention a woman whos ridden Raptor over 1200 times. Alex will beat that mark, hes gotten 300 this year alone - but while some of his info is most likly alright - they do not inspect the trains every 15 runs. On a busy day with normal dispatches it would be taken off the track like every hour at least. Inspections LAST for probably 30-60 minutes to look at most things.

Just use common sense. Dont believe everythign word for word.

btw heres Alexs proof. Ive ridden with him somewhere in the 500's. Met him several times.

Uh he means for Mindbender Real. And Woodieman, if it wasn't accurate, it wouldn't be listed as the main resource on the accidents page.

Anyone can say whatever they want on the internet. The guy can't spell "course" or "speech" correctly. The only reason I can see why the site was quoted as a source is because it was the only site that attempted to provide information on the incident.

The very look of the website seems to suggest a lack of validity.

Thats not what the site says.

He first states how many times hes been on it. Then, like 2-3 lines down he lists:

I beat the roller coaster world record of 859

When you enter down a couple lines, its pretty much like starting a new paragraph about something else. Also to call it a world record is completely noob. Its not a world record. It has to be recognized by Guiness to have that claim and I dont see his proof of that either.

His lack of:

Decent web design
Decent English

His general lack of coaster knowledge really makes me question his authority as well.

Heres a few n00b tidbits:

The trains are one-of-a-kind, very safe, and consist of three coupled, twinaxled leading cars.

Well duh. they are no worse or better than any other Anton train. Considering its one of the super few that have ever crashed like this, its apparent the fault wasnt with the trains but with the crew that was supposed to maintain it. Claiming the trains are super safe is just more proof that he doesnt really know what hes talking about.

->Every 15 runs on each train it goes in for inspection

Speaks for itself. Thats not true. What kind of inspection? Another quick visual one like the ones that proved to be the fate of the ride? They would need 3 trains and a full time maintenance crew to keep any sort of order on busy day.

Run 1 train. 35 minutes later, take one off, put another on. Crew starts inspection. After the next 35 minutes, take the other one off put 3rd on. Very unlikly, but in under 90 minutes a proper inspection would have to have taken place on the first train and when train 3 is done, train 1 goes on. cycle starts over.

That doesnt seem ridiculous and not true to you? You must believe simply everything you read. In which case. CKW is the smartest, best looking human to ever walk the face of this earth.

BTW nice job on CoasterForce to not even include the lady who died on Raven at SRM. Quality site they run there. NOT.

So is what they did beforehand to contribute to the crash. Al Qaeda could have done a better job running that ride before it crashed than that mall did. I'm not saying that is a true fact it's just ridiculous things DO happen. They probably completely remove a train every 15 days for a total inspection while doing normal inspections every morning.

And that website is terrible.

haha...Thats what I was thinking. Tearing the train apart every 15 days is alot more than most rides, but its plausible because its in a mall. It probably doesnt do as many runs as say, a ride at CP. But 15 minutes? lol.

Calm down, yeesh.

Mindbender is safe now, how can you blame them for doing that? It's to restore faith in the public.
