A cover of the intro to the song by myself.
I know somethings not right, it says it is on the tab but its not perfect.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, I'm no guitarist but I can tell you all the pitches you're playing seem just fine but the timbre is way off. Could be the tempo that's making it sound wrong. I generally like to play with recordings if I'm trying to make something sound "right".

i think your best bet is to throw the tablature in the fire and make your own music,[:D] that way NOONE can EVER tell you you're doing it wrong..

^ no but they can still say it sucks.

My reccommendation is use the tablature as a stepping stone and then use your ears to get the pitch right.. it's really the only way that you can perfect.

Of course some time's it's just the quality of the pick up. There's no way my Squire Strat is going to sound as pure as a Gibson Les Paul[;)] But the pitch will always be there.

I've done a few youtube videos just of covers, this one's my favorite (though I have been writing a lot more of my own music lately)

guitarplayer, i dunno if your supposed to slide all of those powerchords (assuming a drop tuning) but if you arent then definatly try to learn how to bar power chords with your pinky and ring fingers, it'll save your hand later in a set or something.

sounds great tho. what kinda amp do you got?

I've got an Epiphone Les Paul run through a Music Man HD-130 head and 4x12 cab. The distortion is a digitech metal master.

pacoasterrider, the song's in D-standard tuning, so no barred power chords. They're all just the root and the fifth though, no octave, so I just use my first and fourth fingers for those unless they're higher up on the neck, then it's just one and three.
