Accoarding to COASTERnet Batman and Robin:The Chiller is going to be dismantled for the 2008 season[:(]. I really liked that coaster and its a terrible shame that it has to go this way.[:(]

I actually mentioned this in the "Great Adventure has Improved Greatly" thread. But yep, it's going to be gone in 2008 to be replaced with some indoor spinning coaster called The Dark Knight. Movietown Water Effect might be going along with it. As for the Chiller's status, they're actually taking it down now and it might be all gone before the park even closes for the season. I took these pics last Sat:
I've only heard really good things about it as a ride, though I guess it was notoriously unreliable. I wonder if they will move it to a different park?
Yeah, the Chiller had so many problems through the years; mostly with the LIMs. I really liked the ride however; it was in my top 10 coasters list I'd say. Oh well
Meh. Nothing we won't move on from. I'd like to say they're going to fill the space with a better design but an indoor spinner doesn't really push me towards it...
If it didn't kill us, it only made us stronger. If a ride is designed in the future similar to The Chiller, it'll be made right and reinforced and won't cause so much hassle.
That's too bad it have to go man. Looks like the removement of the 2 barrelrolls were just an really expensive joke. Let's hope you'd get a nice custom maurer spinner back in the place.
Coastercount: 1410(I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@) - Wood: 142 - Steel: 1268
well dismantal is better than demolising, it may yet make a return to another park. but to me it soundsgood that its being dismantaled wich means storage not scrap yard
yes they could but then they would need to apply for a new planning permition. to me it sounds like they really didnt take much care of batman and robin so it sounds to me like this could be a good thing.
im still playing on it being dismantaled and not riped down
After seeing many reports of numerous breakdowns I now think that Six Flags did the right thing I mean who wants to see a great coaster stay dormant I also think ever scince the Zero-G-Rolls came out and the Batman sid went SBNO they've been wanting to finnaly eradicate it ,They did not want it to meet the same fate as Flashback@SFMM and Deja Vu@ SFGAM
besides i dont even remember the last time the batman side of it was open....it was always the robin side that was open =( the batman side looked great...i just never had a chance to ride it =(
It opened for a few days in 1997 before closing until 1998. I think it had something to do with the LIMs. They also changed the harnesses at this point, adding more padding to them.
yeah that was my first launched rollercoaster i rode the batman side when i was 8 loved it im pissed now that it's going and that a shizty mack wildmouse is being put up. I also heard about rumors on a new B&M dive machine rollercoaster for sfga in 2009
