Steam Help Please.

I purchased G mod and whenever i start the game it begins loading for maybe 10secs and then I get a vista message saying Hl2.exe has stopped working, I have reinstalled it maybe 5 times, including all of steam, I have No idea why this happened and I have tried nearly every solution, I do have 2 source games, Half Life, and Counter Strike Source which both work fine, this problem only happens to gmod.

Any further solutions will be appreciated, and slappin' points will be rewarded to whom ever helps me fix it

Do you have HL or HL2?

yes I have HL2 and Counter Strike: Source so it's not my lack of a source game.

it must be my laptop, I appreciate all your guys help but my computer still will not run Gmod. Looks like I wasted $10

No...you didn't waste $10 at all. The magic of Steam is that when purchasing a game, it links to your account. It may not work on your laptop, but if you sign in your Steam account on ANY other computer, you will be able to install the GMod you purchased.

Well it turns out it was my Gmod game itself after I went to my friends house. The fix: I logged onto his account on my computer and downloaded Gmod. After that was done I replaced all my game files with his and now it works.
