Anyone being affected by this? By affected I mean having to evacuate. The latest numbers from San Diego county alone is 1,000 homes and business burnt / completely destroyed. Yesterday and today fire ws close to SFMM which is North of LA County. The Orange County fires have been deemed to have been arson but also those went wildly. Anyway, so what's the status with you freaks? Glad I'm in LA and only fire that could happen is arson of some electrical malfunction [lol]

[lol] They brought out couple thousand "good behavioral" inmates to come out and help. Imagine them trying to escape from jail and go into the woods for hiding? Not smart for them [lol]

Instead of California breaking off from the continental US, Im waiting for it just to incinerate itself then crumble into the ocean.

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Umm, I live about 3 miles from my local wild fire. The only places around me that have been evacuated are about 2 miles from my house. Currently, I'm safe :) But that could change today..... but let's not talk about that.

But we can't. We aren't as rich as Malibu. And swimming won't help. This is serious, not for fun.

Flying into California, you can just see all of the brush and crap that's ready to go. It makes sense that California is being hit with bad fires.

The problem is that this is the one random week that we have Santa Ana winds (opposite direction, and very gusty). The fires are unpredictable and insane. They are jumping 10 lane highways. Thats ridiculous.

Anyways, my nieghborhood was evac'd for the fires LAST time, in 2004. Now there is nothing to burn, our whole mountain range is dirt. lol. So yea. But the smoke and ashes still suck, my car had a snow layer of ashes this morning, all sports were cancelled at school, and they made us stay inside.

not evaced yet...
i was awoken last night (well actually 245 this morning) by an overly concerned freind who doesn't understand the concept of wildfire usually restricting itself to areas with lots of brush.. however i went outside and the fire was VERY visible on the hillside.. i woulda taken pictures, but they wouldn'ta come out to well
just in case i got my breifcase with my papers and am ready to clear out the studio promptly if i have to.. probabally not though..

Yeah, in August when I was in Cali, we drove by those hills and were commenting on how easily it could catch fire and spread all over the place. That just suucks, the person who started that, if it is really arson, is going to be in so much shiz...

Good grief Jay! That is a little too close for comfort!

Slap -- you having any issues with the smoke drifting south?

Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

well yeah, BUT it sure was bad ass to watch last night!
you see, these are wildfires, where i live IS close , and if were all brush around i'dve been evicted.. but where i live it's all concrete and asphalt.. there really isn't anything to burn ,in fact people from evac areas were showing up in the parking lot of the albertsons right outside my door.. i'm safe.. .. they have the freeway and the roads as a firebreak, AND the fire is going the other way.. fortunately..

scary stuff! Imagine people who are on holiday, only to return to their house to find it in embers.

Gladly for me, here there is never a summer long enough to dry greenery to that level of burnability heh. That doesn't mean to say we don't get wildfires here, they're just not very common, nor spectacular! [lol]

Although, being surrounded pretty much, by forrest and wooded areas, all around where I live, I would be scared of such and event if it all looked like the brushes and stuff around cali.
